I'd bet it's just Loic riding off-season with a standard shock so he doesn't need to worry about hiding the unreleased Ohlin's tech.

I don’t get how this bike gets positive reviews everywhere when it drops chains all the time. That is such a major dealbreaker, I would not even consider this bike because of how much I hear about chain dropping with it. Every major website that has reviewed it has had issues with chain drops and they all say that with some working, they can fix it. However, I have not heard of anyone fixing the problem so they never drop chains. Sure, it rides good, but everything rides good now. Dropping chains (all the time) should drop this bike from...

There is outside money... in Europe... and in XC. Notice how many top XC, mostly Euro, riders have sponsor logos that North American's have never heard of? Obviously, Nino is a bit of an exception, but he has "Corner Card" at the front of his helmet along with numerous others. I've heard he even has a chocolate sponsor. The man was/is deep into the 7 figure mark. Kate Courtney's Redbull helmet is worth substantially more than the average DH rider annually. How many DH/Enduro riders do you see being sponsored by car dealerships? It pales in comparison to the XC...

rludes is effectively correct, most XL bike reviews are pointless, even for their tall rider demographic. Long reach (xl) bikes built around a medium 'too short' of chainstays and a head tube that's too squat, requiring anything more than 10mm of steer tube spacers (diminishes reach #'s further), which will likely end up being 15-20mm+ worth. Bad all around for tall guys. What matter is a +15-25mm on your reach # to the (sagged) chainstay length. Unless your favorite mtb brand doesn't have size specific chainstays for s-m, l-xl and xxl, then the bike is optimized around a pretty particular...

If it's as ugly as the Kitsuma, then i'd rather they keep it hidden.

PB doing PB things. I’ve never paid any attention to any if their reviews anyway. Kazimer’s response just backs it up even more

As much as I like Bruni, as a racer…that’s all he is; a DH MTB racer! I’m not trying to offend anyone here, but many pro athletes have no education, or real life experience outside of racing. For most people, professional racing is a short opportunity/window…it doesn’t pan out for most financially. I was around AMA Supercross and nationals in the 90’s; my brother was a pro, and had a few factory rides…it didn’t work out for him. He and his buddies sure were fun to hang with, but they didn’t know shit about anything but getting chicks!

DH will never achieve mainstream viewership. It's more boring than baseball if you're not a dedicated fan. Anyone who tells you DH is about to "break through" is selling you a bridge. The Rampage broadcast could achieve mainstream viewership in theory, but the way they broadcast it live is SOOOOOO long and boring, and it's a just once-a-year event which makes it hard for people to attach to. As it sits, watching a live Rampage broadcast is a mix of boredom, white hot panic, and frustration.

Last Yamaha I owned is the one in my garage. But it runs on race gas and Golden Spectro, not electricity.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Cheers Vital! There's some better pictures of that Yamaha prototype here. Definitely a real bike, and not a mockup. Those KYB suspension pieces are droolworthy for sure. Especially the shock which is labeled 65 on the coil. Hopefully that's a 205x65mm? One can only hope. global.yamaha-motor.com/showroom/event/japan-mobilityshow-2023/ypj
