I own 2 Giant bikes. They used to be everywhere and every second bike was a Giant. Nowadays I hardly see any. What happened to the Giant of cycling.

3/13/2026 4:12pm I just hope all the light/medium technical trails survive this XC Renaissance 32" madness. Ever since gravel bikes got popular, it seems like it has become standard practice to turn any non black diamond trail into a dirt version of a paved road. Kind of seems like everything is either a flow trail/fire road or the gnar gnar these days...

Their current gen Reign aluminium frame doesn't hold up either. The chainstays have a little hole where the shifting cable should enter. That's where they like to start cracking. Also the quality control is bad on these frames in my opinion. Not cleanly pressed in bearings leaving edges in the bearing seats, bad alignment. They have stuff to improve on for the next generation, that's for sure

I have a mulleted 2018 with a Cascade Link, and it's been pretty bulletproof for me but I'm more of a 'ride a big bike everywhere because it's comfortable'...

😆 Meanwhile, Specialized Korea can't even import them because of battery regulations. They probably had 50% of the E-bike market, and that's gone straight down the pooper, especially since DJI motor'd bikes finally started coming in.

1/29/2026 6:24pm FWIW, Upway bikes has tons (44) of 24 and 25MY Levos in various specs and sizes. I was thinking demo fleet at first, but they all have less than 20 miles on them, so they must be overstock.

I believe the Wp cone valve is for impacts/compression blow off. Not rebound changes. but either way I think almost all the moto guys (KTM) were like ahh, NO. Unsure what it's gonna do on large impacts.

The wiffer is only in the air spring. Cone valves are in the damper. Maybe chasing the same performance or ride feel. Yes very similar to ramp control, but used for fairly different reasons

10/14/2025 5:17pm KYB and Showa always use steel stanchions. WP had a 52mm Cone Valve fork with aluminum stanchions for pro racing, but most of their riders stopped using it. Edit: Stanchions are actually aluminum on the KYB mtb fork. I'm guessing the wall thickness, or bushing overlap is pretty different than most mtb forks if they landed on that 32mm number...
