In my experience, it's almost never the links. Inspect the seat post. My V1 was creaking like hell when the frame flexed and rubbed against the very bottom of the seat post - even when not sitting on the saddle. Try a different crankset, try different pedals, try a different shock, try a different rear wheel.

Triple double bikes will definitely be limited by fork manufacturers. XC forks will probably be the first on the market, but I'd imagine trail/enduro forks could take a while to show up.
i think it is pretty easy to differntiate between a pedal powered bike and a full motor driven bike. I don't think they will police at all but respectfully do not agree that it will be too difficult for ht he man to differentiate.

Probably the Scor, or Crestline e bikes come closest to full DH performance. The Slash + would be sick with a dual crown, but the low power motor kind of kills it for me. Haibike made the Nduro 8 Freeride, which looked pretty decent at 180/180 on Ohlins and mullet. The Kenevo Comp at 180/180 probably shreds hard enough, but...
I'm ready to buy an electric DH bike from whichever major brand makes one first. Haibike is off the list, because they don't have much of a presence in North America these days. Kenevo is off the list cause I'm not into the whole yoke driven shock thing. The superlight enduro eebs don't make any sense to me. 38's and...

Thanks for the post Spomer. I was litereally looking at a V10 yesterday and thinking "man, I'm still surprised nobody has really retrofitted a good solid batter+motor to DH bikes yet that has a throttle". While I may be dreaming to some extent there, the one thing I'd like to point out is we've been hearing the same thing for over 5 years and from what I can tell, not much has happened. E-Bikes haven't served catalyst to mass trail closures. I see zero data to suggest more trail conflicts are occuring. The sky is not in fact falling. This...

Pretty interesting how moto suspension companies do their "A Kit" suspension with DLC, or TiN for the stanchions, and Kashima is used on the shock bodies/fork chassis, but none of the moving parts. If I had money to blow, I would try to buy those KYB forks and shock tomorrow.🤑

That’s a good question about rebound and leverage rate: From Google search; Yes, the leverage rate of a suspension system can influence the rebound speed. A high leverage ratio will generally result in a faster rebound, while a lower ratio will result in a slower rebound. The leverage ratio determines how much force the suspension system transmits to the shock, affecting how quickly the shock moves. Here's a more detailed explanation: High Leverage Ratio: With a higher leverage ratio, the shock experiences a larger force for a given wheel movement, leading to a quicker extension (faster rebound). Low Leverage Ratio...

How does overall progression affect rebound speed? assuming that you make zero adjustments to a shock, will a more progressive setup have slower rebound speed deep in the travel, and faster rebound speed at the top of the stroke? Or, does overall progression not really affect rebound speed one way or another? Is it super complicated because it depends how...

Servicing my old Bird AM9 I went for a ride and was listening to an annoying creak for the whole time riding up. Trying to find it I finally undid the front shock bolt, the shock moved under it a bit, tightened it back up and all was quiet. Since then I ALWAYS tighten shock bolts with the bike sat on the ground (just like I do with wheel axles, always tighten them witht he bike sitting on the ground).

Sounds good, I'll give that another check next time. I had ruled that out in my head, as I thought the creaking would indicate movement, and the extender/shock repositioning themselves and returning to perfect alignment. Then the creaks continued and I thought "well it couldn't be the shock extender, that would have straightened itself out by now."

Likely the shock extender. Any time I unbolt the shock from a shock extender, when I set the bike back up I always compress it a couple of times with the bolt torqued only half way. There is always clearance between the bolt and bushing. If the shock is slightly to the side due to that clearance, that misalignment will make a pretty loud noise. Compressing the bike a couple of times before fully torquing the shock bolt can help make sure everything is centered up. Specialized frames are what I find this most useful on, but anything with a...

2018 Reign. Yeah, it's definitely a head scratcher. Luckily for me, the X2 is just a spare at this point. I was kind of thinking the little trunnion washers rubbing up on the shock while riding might be making the noise? But those are constant, so yeah idk how the different rockers make different noise. Kinda knew I would regret...

Any experience with 2024+ model year Float X2 making lots of metal creaking sounds with Cascade links? The Cascade link is dead silent with a DVO Jade coil, and the X2 is silent with the stock rocker, so I'm thinking the X2 and Cascade link aren't playing nicely. FWIW, I had a 2022MY X2 before warranty and it never made...

I'm thinking the high anti rise is to maximize stability in less technical, high speed sections of the track. Like flowy sections with man made berms. Should result in a more consistent feel while trail braking on hardpack, possibly at the expense of a little plushness. I guess they figure it's more beneficial to chase speed in the bike park...

That's true about Myriam being a RedBull athlete on the same team. Everyone on Commencal Muc Off is sponsored by DHaRCO for their riding gear though, so Fox being Asa's riding gear sponsor could still be a sticking point in that scenario. It gets complicated for riders with a bigtime gear + energy drink sponsorship.

I'm not so sure about that to be honest. Say Asa wanted to go to Commencal for example.. Amaury Pierron would be his teamate, and he's sponsored by Monster.. I don't think RedBull would sign off on that, TBH. Then Asa loses a sponsor that's worth more than the frame mfg that he's riding for..Not gonna happen/impossible deal from Asa's...

Reading between the lines here, he may have had to stay on Frameworks, or another RedBull friendly team. The Redbull/Monster energy team association deal has stymeid plenty of Moto racing contracts over the years. Also, big time gear contracts like Fox come into play here also. Matter of Fact, I believe Ken Roczen had to look far and wide for...
