4/30/2025 5:15pm Looks like a TMD is hanging out on the steerer tube. And, is that another sensor zip tied to the rear shock?

4/15/2025 7:02pm Realistically, they have a cult like following because they were marked down like crazy when nobody really wanted the last Gen bike with a Shimano motor. Whoever got a screaming deal on one loves the fact that they get to brag about riding a "cool brand" bike for so much less $$$ than MSRP. Pinkbike listed some nice traits about...

4/9/2025 8:58am +1 on the horse issue. They’re literally the single most destructive/disruptive user group I can think of (post holing and eroding everything they touch, shitting everywhere, easily scared, etc.) but they get minimal flack as far as I know because the user group is mainly rich old heads that have more influence over public land use in most places. I also think a lot of these issues would be alleviated if local govt/land managers would allow/invest in more mtb specific trails and infrastructure. You look at areas like Bentonville Arkansas, Knoxville, TN and lots of other southern/southeastern cities where mtb...

4/2/2025 6:56pm It's probably a Cali-Centric problem, because they put 1/4"-1/2" granite aggregate on all the fire roads around here. You get rock chips from CLIMBS around here if you're not a total squid. And if you have a problem with a raw aluminum mtb frame, that sounds like a very serious personal problem. You should probably seek professional help with that...

4/2/2025 3:05pm I'm not talking about catastrophic failure. Carbon is kind of pain in the butt long term esthetically IMO, and it eventually looks really hagard once enough paint is chipped or worn. An A.L. frame you can just take all the paint off and go raw if the paint gets too bad. I feel like people with carbon bikes always go...

4/1/2025 11:56pm I liked that 8 speed all steel groupset Sram came out with a decade ago that was ebike specific. I thought it was a great idea, but I assume its dead now. Maybe just my personal experience, but I feel like you need less range than on a real bike because you have the torque to winch up anything (its common for Shimano ebikes to come with a 38t front chainring) and the super low 20mph power cutoff.

4/1/2025 11:51pm Cool bike, but Pivot and Santa Cruz are shooting themselves in the foot by only producing Enduro and DH bikes in Carbon Fiber. Most people don't want to baby a long travel rig everywhere they go, they just want to ride it. Go ahead and down vote this post, I don't care.

4/1/2025 8:13pm With potential of new tariffs rolling in, im curious for how long this sport will stay healthy especially in the US. After the covid misery, this sounds like a good new nail into the coffin.

3/10/2025 7:47pm I think most of the answers above weren't answering Glory's actual question. From his own response, I think he means from the perspective of the person buying a company, which would you rather have? This is a thread about companies after all, not about products. The legacy brands have value in name recognition, so even if the new offerings are nothing special, people who don't follow the current market will still buy them. As a consumer who is following MTB, legacy means little, and I would prefer to buy what I think I really want. But if I were to...

3/9/2025 3:36pm I'm not sure if that makes the current bikes any better. That would depend on what specific model we're talking about, and spec levels ect. A brand's legacy can make it a lot easier to sell to non 'core' mountain bikers though for sure. A well known brand can rest on their laurels a little bit, whereas a brand like...
