Glory831Guy Added a reply to Hardline in the US?
6/14/2024 12:02am Anything is possible with Monster Energy sponsoring races in the US now. Monster and Redbull have kept Motocross racing viable for the last 10 years. If they feel like MTB is their next best revenue stream, then that's good news for MTB racing in North America.

6/5/2024 11:58pm That's pretty cool I'm not gonna lie. I wonder if the XS has a short enough wheelbase to fit on a bus rack?

6/5/2024 11:20pm I don't think a short travel eeb will keep you satisfied for long if you're already used to riding enduro bikes. Also, suspension seatposts on commuter eebs add a ton of comfort, and the storage racks on those bikes make them roughly 1,000,000x more practical for actual commuting.

5/27/2024 11:00pm Sweet, I might have to give them a go. I like the 12 degree backsweep too, pretty much perfect dimensions. I was being facetious just so ya know, I have more parts from AliExpress than I really care to admit. And most of them are excellent.

5/27/2024 7:59pm I've ridden some of the steepest trails in the area, and hucked some decent sized jumps to flat. They still feel straight and plenty rigid. The product info on their listing mentioned that they are 6,000 series heat treated aluminum, so I wouldn't doubt that they're made on the same assembly line as more expensive brands.

5/27/2024 6:09pm Partner with Monster and make an Enduro/DH series in the US where the purse money is so high that the UCI series gets killed by the next year. Make Enduro a money-making series by running events the same weekend as the DH races. Once that gets rolling, start a well-funded regional amateur series with free TV rights to grow the...

5/27/2024 5:20pm I've been successfully rocking these Amazon Special 90mm risers for 3 months now. Before, I had some 60mm rise bars on a 35mm stem all the way up. With these, I use a 50mm stem and slam it all the way down. My first few rides, the steering felt a bit twitchy and auto-pilot-ey. I've learned to love this setup...

5/20/2024 6:01pm I don't think Kona was pigeonholed by their lineup at all, as most manufacturers have some models that are more conservative, and others that are newer and more cutting edge. I feel like they just fell behind in value compared to some of their competitors. Ibis had smoking deals on AF models, Spesh had the Status and the Stevo deals...

5/16/2024 10:06am Maybe he needs extra compliance to offset the extra rigidity from the Air Shock? Running a Float X2 instead of a DHX2 is what I can't wrap my head around.

5/10/2024 10:53pm I think it is all of the above. Loic's Suspension is the best because of the time, skill and efforts him and his Team put into everything they do, specifically testing. Loic's Bike is the best, because Specialized uses him (The Best Rider) to build and develop the bikes. Best Rider + Best Engineers + Lots of Testing = Best Bikes Loic is the best rider, because of everything he does between waking up, and going to sleep each and everyday, as well as the support from his Team, Ohlins and Specialized. IMO, the suspension, bike or Loic could not...

5/8/2024 10:45pm Did Specialized's rear suspension design win Fort William, or was Ohlins' shock tech the secret sauce that brought home the W? Or was it all about Loic's technique and strength?

5/3/2024 12:30pm Definitively Mondraker for me. Nice shade of blue, clean, and business-like. Some of these are giving me big-time Thor cat gear vibes, lol.

5/1/2024 1:28pm My 2 cents. I don't care how many pieces it is, if the whole get up is skin tight lets not split hairs, its a skinsuit. Nuke it and bring back the Palmer days, its not a good look or a representation of mountain biking.

4/30/2024 1:02pm Well I guess that disproves my tinfoil hat theory that the factory Rockshox riders were running DLC coated stanchions.

4/23/2024 12:58am That's just a negative trait of mini-link bikes. They are initially progressive, then linear. Giants and Ibises feel the same way. Pedaling performance is awesome on climbs, but repeated small bumps on descents can make the suspension feel like it packs up and doesn't react unless your spring rate/air pressure/LSC is perfectly dialed.

4/18/2024 11:15pm Maybe I’m backwards, but if we’re talking cars and bikes here, I’d rather take a page out of history’s books, than look to the future. I currently daily drive a manual transmission 2010 Honda Fit. It’s hands down the best car I’ve ever owned, even when compared to the brand new Subarus and Toyotas I’ve owned in the past. The build quality is stellar, parts are cheap, and there’s not a Bluetooth this or giant TV screen that anywhere in it. If a somewhat reputable manufacturer could make a cloth interior, hand crank windows bare bones commuter car for like...
