I don't doubt that, the 11.6 is one of the most expensive shocks on the market. And we're both just providing single anecdotal evidence of our own experiences, on one bike. But I'd wager you wouldn't be upset if the 11.6 had HBO and it's a wonderful feature on more affordable and non-custom tuned shocks. I'm with you though on...

Now that I've had it, I wouldn't want to go back. It's been a luxury to run a 50lb lighter spring while also virtually eliminating bottom outs and end of travel harshness. Went from a DHX at 400lbs to a SDLX at 350 fwiw.

HBO is a nice "safety" feature - you can make a good shock without it so I'm not sure if its a deal breaker but I would definitely prefer HBO than externally adjustable High speed rebound.

Keeps you from breaking frames from repeated bottoming. If I was an OEM I'd be interested in HBO to cut down on warranties, particularly on aluminum frames with lifetime warranty.

I was looking at the new 2026 Santa Cruz Eagle 70 & 90 builds released today and saw these black Mavens on the spec list, they're the new base version of the Mavens. This new version has a DirectLink lever instead of the SwingLink we all love, does anyone know if the lever feel was updated or if that mushy Code R feeling is back ? The new Motives are also DirectLink only which is surprising.

Revel looks to have a new bike dropping tomorrow, as well as updated colorways for the Rascal. The 27.5 Rail is no longer on their site so maybe this is a new mullet 165mm travel enduro bike. Blurry image looks mullet and rear shock has a piggyback.
