Just seen the junior men. If aon didn't have bad luck, they would have no luck at all.

Glad they are showing 30 seconds of the bike and start gate and zero seconds of the run halfway through the women’s.

let the rules questioning continue.

is outside assistance on bike repair allowed in DH?

seems like kiefer should be DSQ because if his clock started with the original beam break, he then had outside assistance on his bike. (i'm fine with him being in b/c i earned 36pts off him in fantasy at least LOL...results soon).

Any idea why AON missed the start time?

I assume you're referring to Stan Nisbet in the Junior men's race. He was supposed to be the first rider down the course. For some reason he was standing, without his bike, near the start hut. The rider who was to start second - Hudson Tarling was also there, with his own bike. One of Nisbet's crew came running up with Nisbet's bike, but just as he arrived the starting official called for Tarling to enter the start hut. The official wouldn't allow Nisbet any extra time.

You can watch it unfold on the video replay, starting at about the 0:45 mark:

Dude, seriously, either use Google translate or don't expect to get any answers.

Damn, what a race for the young Canadians. Lots of action, looked like a super fast track.

Funny having the highlights without commentary, I really didn't mind though. And the chain skip in the start hut was premium advertising for Gates .

I saw it go down. I was wondering if there were some insights about why it happened.

As far as I can tell, technical assistance is not even addressed for DHI in the current UCI rulebook. Downhill starts on page 26.

XC with the tech zone, and Enduro with the requirement to use the same frame, fork, wheels/5 min penalty to replace them.

There is actually nothing about mechanicals or any kind of tech assistance during a DHI event probably because it makes no sense, you're going to lose anyway. They may want to add it now.

Awesome to see Gracey get her first win, well deserved. Good couple weeks for Canadians and the Squamish kids. Jackson today, Elly Hoskin with the EDR W and Ella MacPhee winning the U23 XCO last week - all went to the same high school.

that's why i posted the finals start lists here (and on homepage) like 30 mins after quali results were posted.

Referring to the fact the sheet with results has neither a hard line to delineate who made it nor any asterisk or even a different color background for the racers who made it through.

All the websites and media get this sheet with the results on it…but the software wizard can’t post a demarcation for IN vs OUT.  Simple you’d think.

If you’re gonna adamantly kick the very very first rider for being a minute late, you’d better not tell a guy he can start twice. It’s okay to not know what you’re doing, but you have to own it.

Someone deserves an apology but I have no faith anyone will cop to screwing up.

I could not believe the starting wand being a story again. Ridiculous.

you come in spouting about how pro you’re gonna make it yet you have nothing to say about badgebros on track, ambiguous course markings, and how starting works? Maaaaaaaaaate

On Keifer, I don’t know a single dude who races that would hit the wand and not keep going in a sheer panic to salvage time.
Last time I raced, got zoned out & left when they said “10 Seconds”. I just went because I knew it would be sorted at the bottom but nothing good could come of stopping

Anyone consider changing the name of their post-race recap show? …”uh, are you sure you want to remind people about the Polish pole???”

I thought they gave it that name so when you forgot the name for Vital's post-race recap podcast you accidentally ended up somewhere worse 🤷‍♂️

That's awesome, some definite shredders coming out of that area, love to see it especially with the chainsaw connection.
