Cardi-E (Ed Masters) just put together a super interesting EDR race rig weigh-in: ENDURO WORLD CUP WEIGH IN - YouTube. Sick to see that none of us should care about a few grams here and there.

Somehow the commentators had me hyped and invested without yelling into the mics. This stream worked really well for me, and oh man the racing was tight! Watching Blenki just barely wash out in finals was nail-biting. The Women's race had so much drama! Amazing race

Dean Lucas' little review of the Leogang race. Some pretty insightful comments in there on how and why courses are getting faster, straighter and more bikepark-y. Going by that (and also what Laurie Greenland had to say), I think it's really sad to see the organizers catering so much to the broadcasters and basically putting the riders' interests last behind...

They could make a longer travel bike with this new suspension design and kill off like 4 models- FRS, clash, meta sx, old meta am 29 never understood why they make so many different but similar purpose free ride/park bikes

SX sounds more menacing than AM. They'll probably continue with SX, and my guess would be they'll bump the rear travel to 170mm (after all, the current SX goes to 173mm with the WRP link) and will put a 170-180mm fork up front. Smile

Here's another little detail I just found out about the new Commencal Meta V5: Internally at Commencal, within the official documentation, the Meta V5 is known as the 2023 "Meta TR". That could mean that they do really see it as more of a trail bike, which leaves some unoccupied space in their line-up for a long-travel single crown bike...

That's the thing, brands barely just started offering geo and sizing that fits tall people and now it seems at least that its swinging back the other way. Indeed the labelling of sizes has changed (so a large is now larger than before) but they still make an equivalently sized bike, it is just labelled medium instead (or even small (!!!) in cases like the Canyon Strive). This also makes sense for a 'medium' frame to be the best fit for an average height person.

FFS!!! We had this with wheel size for too long and now we’re doing it about reach. Pick a size and be a colossal DICK about (pun intended). Can’t we just grow up and allow people to choose. There’s plenty of good objective opinions on every side of the fence.…. could we please, please have another thread for reach opinions… on pb preferably

That's not really true tough. All Commencal are doing is not going any longer than they already are. Reach across the board isn't going to decrease anytime soon. The next bing thing instead will be appropriately tall stack heights. Basically what Santa Cruz is doing already. Also: Just let us tall people have appropriate reach and stack for once. Smaller...

But has the quality of the frame been improved? I remember a PB review where Matt Beer criticised the bike for having excessive amounts of frame flex. He ended up breaking the frame during the review period.

Kona going back to their roots, love to see it. The frame looks beyond burly and the rubber protector on the top tube surely must mean it's dual-crown fork compatible. Sick!

I just got the e-Mail from Norco too. Looks like a new leightweight full-carbon e-bike then. Maybe Fluid VLT. Very weird move coming from a brand that has made a name for themselves caring about descending perfromance and handling first. I'm also not too excited about the fact that it's an e-bike to be honest, especially not about the stupid...

Not even going to lie, the clip of Alex Wayman in the RAW got me so hyped that I had to throw his name in the hat. *If you wear an all black kit and ride with attitude, you earned a gold star in my heart

I think it's one of the Canyon teams that has " R I D E " pasted over their butts and I would like to vote that as the worst kit (or best... hard to say)

I vote that the poo brown/white of the 100% Commencal team is one of the worst. Who thought diarrhoea was a good colour choice?
