I misremember if I've shared this before. Please forgive me if so...
A gifted English motorcycle engineer named Allen Millyard hand made four downhill bikes in the mid to late oughts because his son was into DH racing and asked for a bike. The result was something on the level of the Honda DH bike of the time and actually beat it in a race. (I think it was the DirtMag 1:04.) It seems that he was also an early sponsor of Bernard Kerr.
It's just nuts. It has a single sided swing arm with a fully enclosed drivetrain. Not just a gearbox with a chain or belt coming out. A fully enclosed drivetrain.
Do enjoy.
So cool! He and his son were working on a pretty wild shock a few years back: https://www.mbr.co.uk/news/millyard-hyper-ride-ii-shock-397035

This guy also runs like 60psi tires right? Mad lad lol
Yeah, he made the shock too. It's on the bike in the video. There's a scene where they hook it up to a nitrogen can to pressurize it.
Millyard is an awesome guy with some really cool ideas. He's definitley not afraid of doing things his own way.
