I would probaly look I to buying used, there is a large buy and sell area on pinkbike.com that I have used before, just follow there recommendations so you don't get scammed. In terms of bikes it sounds like something around the 130mm travel would suit you, most companies make something in that range. A few to look into would be the Giant Trance, Norco Fluid, Revel Rascal. If you have a shop locally it would be a good idea to go and see them and see if they have so etching that would fit what your after, after all...

i still have a first gen mattoc pro and love it. IRT is great. love that they make it to run less travel now, i have a custom spacer in mine to get it down to 120mm and it makes an absolutely fantastic downcountry (*gasp i said it*) fork.

5/24/2023 6:35am My friend who is one of the editors of another MTB magazine mentioned a media embargo until the twenty-third of June. Maybe BikeRumor leaked it early. Highly interesting fork though. Really good damper design, innovative air spring and somewhat competitively priced against Pike and Fox 34. I just wish Manitou products were more easy to purchase in Europe.

Take out the headset bearings, properly clean off the grease and inspect the bearing seats. You'll likely find cracks in the carbon.

I literally did exactly that. Tested the SC Megatower, Specialized Enduro, Giant Reign and Orbea Rallon back to back at my local bike shops demo event in April. Rode them all on a black diamond trail and all of them are decent bikes, but the Megatower is by far the best. By far the most stout, stiff and confidence inspiring. As for the Enduro frames cracking: There is literally entire forum threads with dozens if not hundreds of pictures of exactly the same failure mode, which is cracks in the head tube beacuse the bearing seats aren't properly reinforced. Yes the Tues is a few years old, but if you look at the geometry it's pretty much up to date, they are only lacking a mullet version.

That's awesome! But why would you choose a Specialized Enduro - a frame that is notoriously unreliable - over something like a Santa Cruz Megatower?
