Major overthinking here - but that banjo crimp fitting looks very similar to the ones used on the Hayes Dominions, not sure any others use one structured exactly like that. You have a sortof indention near the banjo end followed by horizontal lines, most others lack that indention. The lever adjuster is also similar to what Hayes uses. May not mean much in either case, a rotary reach adjuster is hardly unique and I'm sure those fittings just come from a supplier in large quantities, but maybe worth noting.

I'm sure it's mainly because with this setup, even if it's just for testing, they can re-use the Dissent main frame which simplifies things quite a lot.

Really don’t get the dumb dislikes on the previous post, the black ones ( I got 3 all in full black with the last 3 warranties ) are the latest stock apparently, and after some torch inspection no, there’s no extra seal around the pins, so they will keep failing with moisture staying trapped causing the spring to corrode or something.

After that many years and issues on the same platform, it would have been a good time to rename the Float X2 to Float X3 to try to differentiate it from the unreliable last version 😅
