Why don’t DGI just spec electronic suspension to cancel out the inefficiency of gearboxes, are they stupid?

Personally I'd rather have this thread be quieter than be completely overtaken by ebike tech.

The electronic suspension/high pivot/stand up and pedal convo is the dumbest thing to happen to tech rumors in a long time. Banal, illogical, myopic.

I've got a bit of time on the Butcher and Eliminator on my Enduro bike and they're legit. I'm coming off of Conti Kryptos and they definitely feel more grippy, I immediately felt the difference in the radial casing as soon as I had them on, the Conti's felt almost wooden in comparison. I was concerned about the Eliminator out back being it's more of a trail bike tire but they're seriously impressive, testing them out with some hard stops on flatter loose / dusty trails I had expected them to slip and drift like my Kryptos but they just...

Thicker rotors only reduce lever travel (which comes from less of a gap between pads and rotor) till the pads are worn a bit and the caliper seals let the pistons slip out a bit to make up for some of the wear. Then, the lever throw is only depending on the seal roll back of the caliper piston seals. The same effect can be achieved by pumping the brakes and by that advancing the pistons slightly before you insert a thinner rotor.

I think a downtube experiences tension and compression, but I think for the majority of impacts its experiencing them as a compression event. That's part of the reason why roadbikes can have such tiny toptubes and still need such huge downtubes. The early 2010's TCR is a great example of this extreme difference in tube sizes: Here's my caveman understanding of those forces (not an engineer): But I don't even think that compressive force is the main reason downtubes need to be stiff. I think the main reason is that it connects contact points. It's the most direct line between...

Of all the dumb ebike comments in this thread, this one really got to me. "Ebike motors are controlled by analog PWM signals. So they are actually analog by the literal definition of analog." For the 18 people who up-thumbed this, care to explain what the fuck an "analog PWM signal" is?
