tech rumors forum update - you've spoken and have been heard we'll lock out this thread at the end of the year (no matter what, it's just too darn big now), and will carry on with yearly tech rumors threads that will be stickied for easy participation. the 2026 thread is already underway here (not yet stickied) i just want to thank everyone for their feedback and insight on what this piece of the vital community means.

What throws me off is the double shear interface between the SS-Rocker, usually the bearings get put in the Rocker and the SS has the overlap, but this frame has it the other way around. No brand I know does it this way, I think if we find who does this with their rockers, we find the brand behind the proto.

You just described the Norco Fluid, which exists. 130/140mm crab link. Carbon and aluminum options. Was bike of the year for one of the big guys (green and red sites), maybe both when it came out 2 seasons ago.

The patent description is quite interesting. Seems more like a way to modify spring rate in one direction only than what we would typically call "damping," if that distinction makes sense. (Cue the semantic arguments!) Vocabulary aside I'd be interested to know what it feels like.
