Based on those tables, the highest rate of annual CPI inflation in the US this century was 3.8% (2008, i.e. The GFC) and the average was 2.1%... until COVID happened. Since then the average has been 4.4%. If that continues, it will take less than ten years to exceed the preceding 20. Although if you're here to complain about the concept of inflation in the first place, well I can't help you there.

I watched the entire men's race yesterday. It was pretty fantastic. I hate to say it, because I love DH soooo much more than XC on a personal level, but XC is a more natural, and (please don't hate me) better, television product than DH. As for the race itself, I was really hoping to see Bjorn Riley push to the front in the last couple of laps, but he did serious work to finish as high as he did after his misfortune in XCC on Friday. It would have been amazing to see him get his first XCO win...

I’ve had them on the enduro bike and e bike, and I like em! It’s not life changing, and I’m not sure if I’ve ever slipped a grip and crashed prior - but they’ve been a nice $35 upgrade that feels pretty solid for the bike park - and they’ve protected my hands from a few branches!

Yeah it would mainly be used for diagnosing issues or validating a retune - In theory a dialed team would have tunes worked out in advance or have shocks ready to go, and you should have processes refined enough that you don't need to check that a rebuild worked properly. You wouldn't/shouldn't be experimenting with big changes on a race weekend but if you were someone that worked on a range of products for a wider range of people, or taking it to dedicated test weekends then it is something that could be super useful. On paper the specs are comparable to the benchtop dynos most workshops that have one use - https://ctwautomation.com/products/crank-type-machines/ Things like rigidity of the frame and scotch yoke could be more of a limiting factor - my dyno weighs twice as much but has similar speed/stroke specs. Things like the electronics and data processing are also important and you get what you pay for, so I'm not exactly endorsing it but it could be good as an entry level or 2nd portable dyno for some people. But I mostly just think its cute!
