8/13/2026 5:47am As I got a little further into the conversation, the host mentions something about the "new range of bikes" and Peter says something along the lines of "talking specifically about the LT..." That makes it sound like a few bikes rather than a single bike or a pair of bikes. I wouldn't call two bikes a "range" and I wouldn't have used the word "new" for bikes that have been out for a year already (the LTe and MTe), so that feels a little like the host knows more than the guest wants to reveal. Speculation continues. Also an interesting...

8/13/2026 5:47am I posted this in the Suspension Component Technology thread but I thought it would be worthy of a post here. It's the designer of Yeti's Sixfinity talking about a bunch of different suspension designs, the engineering thought behind each, and talks about some specifics that a lot of other suspension chat sort of ignores or intentionally leaves out. He also mentions that the Four Bar Flex Stay works really well for an ASR and the Sixfinity works really well for longer-travel bikes. He also talks a bit about the Switch Infinity. He doesn't specifically say anything (yet, I'm not 100%...

8/13/2026 5:46am As someone who is ~100kg, a lot of bikes do disintegrate around this weight when ridden frequently at the bike park. It's gotten a lot better than it was in the past but it still happens. Earlier this week I cracked the damper body on my DHX2 from JRA. Who does that?

8/12/2026 10:56am It's a pretty rad system. My Vessel dh bike has 16mm of r/c adjustment in 3mm increments with an 8mm bb height adjustment that is independent of any suspension kinematics due to BB system design. It fun to mess with this stuff and not have it impact other areas of performance. Truely isolating the variables, as best as possible that is. Really help to hammer home how much the fc/rc bias really impacts the bikes ability to turn even if the wb is pushing 1350mm

8/12/2026 9:03am I suppose the weight limit is just one more argument for them to refuse warranty claims rather than a strict limit, the bike is not going to desintegrate under someone 120kg. There is no mention of the adjustable BB in the geo chart, I can’t understand how companies can be so bad a communicatif basic info about their bikes

8/12/2026 9:02am Cube just released a bunch of new bikes, the new downhill bike looks good (especially at the price) and it has a very interesting feature, it seems like the BB position is adjustable! It's a bit cryptic from their text but this is what I understand from their text and photos. It's the first time I see this https://www.cube.eu/fr-fr/cube-two15-slx-deepteal-n-clouds/1174600

8/12/2026 9:02am It seems we're in the beginning of the reverse-weight-weenie era, in which bicycle riders will be asked to pay more and more money just to add grams to their bicycles.

8/12/2026 9:01am My megapost on Fox Factory is up. One fun side quest I took in this one was trying to show how/why interest rates matter so much, and even built a little calculator everyone can play with. TL;DR, when the discount rate goes up, future earnings goes down and the TAM is sort of eaten, the stock price tanks. https://jeffbrines.substack.com/p/how-fox-factory-lost-a-decade?r=cfzd9…

8/11/2026 10:47am Thanks for the reminder, @sspomer , that World Champs are coming up soon. Along with that event, there are only 3 World Cup races left in the 2026 season. 8/11/2026 10:28am Without diverting this too much, but adult on a full power eeb towing kid on lightweight kid-sized bike solves this problem better, as long as you're riding winch & plummet trails. Which is what a lot of the young rippers prefer. If you're doing rolling up/down stuff, then towing is less practical.
