Maydena’s 2023 Enduro World Cup attracted around 318 competitors and was reported as drawing a large spectator crowd. The venue has since demonstrated its capacity to attract 5,500 spectators for Hardline in 2024 and more than 6,000 spectators per day in 2025.

definitely appreciate the level of detail you're providing alongside engaging with riders via the forums. personally i think its great to see some venues / teams willing to trying new things and innovate rather than just ranting about it on the internet.

Our model is built around a roughly 30 rider structure for many reasons, including; Prize money: in year one we need to be conservative and ensure our prize money is impactful. If we spread it to thin it obviously dilutes this, Course: you can’t keep a course in top condition with too many riders. Course safety: while we are providing some easier options on big features, this course is still absolutely insane. It is challenging enough managing rider safety on a course with so many big features with 30 riders. This course would never work for a large rider field...

We love the World Cup series! This event is genuinely not intended to compete with this or any other event series. We have plans to add a New Zealand event in 2028, and a third southern hemisphere event to follow. Ultimately this will be a 3 round ‘off season’ series where riders have an opportunity to race year round and earn top prize money. This also gives fans an opportunity for more year round race coverage and broadcast.

Well that is clearly not going to happen next year, as the PDF states a total of 30 riders across both male and female categories. I wonder why so many people reference WB and the World Cups here. This is not a zero sum game. We are getting excellent World Cup racing, new Hardline tracks and now this series with huge prize money. If you don't see the value in paying to watch World Cups, don't. if you're referring to the cost to watch, its about $11 USD. it's buried in the PDF, i had to look for it too. based on the athletes currently on the roster, i'm inclined to say it would likely be worth it. i hope they secure some good commentators to go with it

Sometimes the best ideas are really quite simple. This isn’t a revolutionary idea, other sports have done it before (though we have built in a few new ideas). For the cost of a single beer at the pub we can deliver people an epic broadcast while aligning athlete pay with the success of the event. We’ve built the event model using in depth research and have market tested pricing- this isn’t a flash in the pan idea.

We will be rolling out our rider list in the next week or so. We have a core group of top athletes already locked in. We’ve had overwhelming interest from top riders, so are re calibrating the final few spots to squeeze in some big and probably a little unexpected names.

For Crankworx spectating the last couple of years, I ride my e bike up as high as possible, then lock it to a tree and continue on foot. You can get about 1/3 of the way up the course on bike by connecting Whistler Mountain service roads. I splurged and bought spectator tickets for the 3 main days. There's quite good walking access coming down from the top of the Gondola on foot paths built specifically for this track, but the footpaths aren't right beside the track the whole way. I watched the entire men's race yesterday. It was pretty fantastic. I hate to say it, because I love DH soooo much more than XC on a personal level, but XC is a more natural, and (please don't hate me) better, television product than DH. As for the race itself, I was really hoping to see Bjorn Riley push to the front in the last couple of laps, but he did serious work to finish as high as he did after his misfortune in XCC on Friday. It would have been amazing to see him get his first XCO win...
