Red Bull Hardline Tasmania will be replaced by a DH race and event put on in Maydena by locals called Beyond Gravity. There is a pay-per-view broadcast model with a minimum $190k prize purse ($25, 15, 10 for 1st thru 3rd etc) and potential for more as they will share 30% of the PPV revenue with the athletes. Beyond Gravity Mountain Bike Event – Media Release No. 1
Maydena Bike Park and Elevation Events are excited to announce the launch of Beyond Gravity, a brand-new downhill mountain bike event built from the ground up with a focus on the stars of the show- the athletes.

Beyond Gravity will take place at Maydena Bike Park, February 26-27th 2027.
Beyond Gravity will feature a world-class broadcast show, which will be hosted on a pay-per-view platform with a simple, low-cost, one-time payment required to view the event. In a world first for mountain biking, the athletes will share a massive 30% stake in broadcast revenue, based on their final race position. Based on conservative broadcast targets, Beyond Gravity expect to award the largest prize purse ever seen in downhill mountain biking, with a minimum guaranteed cash prize pool of $190k. A brand-new broadcast pre-show will take fans on a behind-the-scenes journey across the event week- the tension, the drama, and the grit as athletes work their way through first hits, and into full course laps.
Beyond Gravity will be contested on a fully updated course, featuring massive new features, but also multiple new sections that optimize racing and line choice. Beyond the spectacle of large course features, at its heart, Beyond Gravity aims to provide the world’s best athletes with a race-course that allows athletes to truly shine. Beyond Gravity does not strive to be the most extreme and dangerous downhill course in the world, and will instead be optimizing features for rider safety, and functionality in a range of weather conditions.
Beyond Gravity will bring together a group of 25 of the world’s top male and female athletes, with a focus on the world’s fastest racers. An additional 5 local (Australia/New Zealand) Wild Card athletes will be invited to join the event week, acting as reserves for the final show. With multiple World Champions, World Cup winners, and Red Bull Hardline winning athletes already signed up, Beyond Gravity will deliver one of the most exciting athlete rosters ever seen outside a World Cup event. Athlete announcements will progress over the coming weeks.
‘Having delivered national and world-level mountain bike events for nearly two decades, I have seen just about every event delivery model there is. Beyond Gravity is an event that aims to start with a clean slate, building an event from the ground up for the racers and the fans, free from corporate influence. We have already had a phenomenal response from some of the world’s fastest racers, and look forward to finalising and releasing our inaugural athlete group across the coming weeks.’ - Simon French, Event Director and Founder
Beyond Gravity will be part of a massive 7-day event program at Maydena Bike Park, including multiple race and social events, live music, activations, live podcasts, and so much more.
Athlete announcements, and the launch of the official event web site will roll out over the coming weeks.

@sspomer prize money would be 100k with 150,000 paid viewers not 1.5 million viewers
