9/2/2026 5:03pm I’ve talked to a couple shops that said that Transition will have “big changes” for MY27. Anyone have insight into the nature of their big changes?

9/2/2026 11:55am How is GoPro not related when I'm watching winning world cup race runs week in and week out on the GoPro Bike YouTube Channel? (Daks helmet sponsor too) On YouTube GoPro Bike has 91k subs vs GoPro Snow at 152k. I honestly thought the gulf of bike to snow would be much larger. Seems like bikes are a huge segment of the market for GoPro (and it's slowly slipping to Insta360 and DJI) I bet a fair amount of people in here have owned a GoPro and basically only used it on their bike. Highly relevant.

9/2/2026 4:59am I can add a bit more being on the design team for this bike. We can do a better job at calling out the "why" in the short press release. There will be upcoming videos talking about it, but here it is from the design side of things. As bike designers we are constrained by the shape of the motor and battery. We can't change these designs. Riders are wanting bigger batteries (800wh in this bikes case). We also have great demand to fit more shocks, from inline, to the largest enduro and coil shocks. We have to have fork...

9/2/2026 4:57am Frame only pricing is a psyop to make building your own bike less appealing/practical so you suck it up and buy the full build

9/1/2026 10:54am Dude, dude, dude... hear me out: I agree that you'd ideally want to have cage spring forces that are lower in the big cogs for easier shifts while climbing and higher cage spring forces in the smaller cogs for greater chain retention and chain calming during descents, and yes the current arrangement on the new dual-spring Shimano RD's is kind of the opposite of that. You know what could be done by Shimano to reverse the derailleur cage spring force problem? You know what they could do? You know what? RAPID RISE IS BACK BABY!!!!! LOW NORMAL THIS IS YOUR...

9/1/2026 6:35am That's the experience that everyone my shop has set up on new di2 has had as well, and these are some of the most noise sensitive people I've ever worked with.

9/1/2026 6:34am Honestly, with how much 32 has been prototyped and with the imminent release of forks, wheels, and tires for 32, I don't think it's going to be nearly as big as people thing. We should be seeing a lot more 32 at races and other events than we are, this feels like it's going to be a lot more like 27.5+ tires and wheels than anything else.

9/1/2026 6:34am Trust me, I get it. I feel exactly the same. I'm honestly getting a bit fatigued by all this pseudo-innovation lately: 32" wheels, competing derailleur hanger standards, electronic 13 speed group sets, 1700w ebike motors, new hub standards - I neither want nor need any of it. Because at the end of the day, all of this is just going to make everything more expensive but won't make a difference to my actual day-to-day enjoyment of cycling.

9/1/2026 6:34am The idea of a company that only does development cycles when they feel they have changes worth making does sound nice but you would think the new Di2 drivetrains would be better if that were the case

9/1/2026 6:34am I have a lot of time for the approach Shimano take to product development. A lot of the new stuff from every brand is not necessarily better than what came before, definitely different, but with compromises as well as advantages. Shimano just take a little longer to decide if the advance is worth the trade off. The great thing is we have a lot of choice of quality products from a number of brands, so no great loss if the Shimano offering doesn't work for you.

9/1/2026 6:32am I think you of all people should have been STOKED on the 4x champs racing. Watching Neko use excellent race craft to hang on to a wheel and then out power dudes at the end. Sounds like you're not even giving it a chance tbh

8/31/2026 11:08am A lot to unpack for me after attending the race. I'm glad I went for sure... My wife did not want to go to the race after almost getting very hurt by a crazy person sliding down the hill through a crowd with a chainsaw flailing on a leash. No photos from me, since I was solo I just roamed the track and took the experience in... And what an experience it was. Part of me loves the unhinged nature of the French fans... But another part of me is grown enough to see that many (easily 30%) towards the...

8/31/2026 11:07am If they can't control the crowd, they need to redesign the corral. Simple. The scenes have been beyond mildy concerning since the first stampede and coupled with the conditions and terrain, fairly surprising there wasn't anyone lost this year or prior.
