Who says GT isnt given them money? just because it won’t be under the GT factory banner.. doesn’t mean they aren’t putting cash into it. it might be something like Continental/Nukeproof. Surely it would cost GT less to supply frame add something to the running cost of the new team than have to pay for the full thing. One thing Wyn great at is given brand’s exposure, and what he’s done for the privateers is nothing sort of brilliant.

Not to derail too much but I think Semi-finals is not ideal for racers but also for the commentators. Listening to the commentators during semi-finals this year, the commentating is consistently ok, and sometimes even really good! They probably get tired by the time finals roll around, and can you blame em? Talking for the whole day and remaining coherent is challenging. I liked the commentating in semis today for MSA!

The GPS box has nothing to do with his handlebar control for the shock. It's provided to many of the riders by the broadcaster. They discuss it here (0:26) while installing it on one of the Canyon bikes earlier in the season... Other riders with it on their bikes...

If you look when he rides off after crashing in the finals at Snowshoe the light is still green. So I doubt its split timing. More likely green for open dampening???

Santa Cruz were on sale for the whole summer and it's still going on, I guess it is just a matter of time before they add their 2024 bikes on it. Trek had a very weak sale this summer that ended and now they're back with deeper discounts for fall. When I saw the first sale discount amounts I said to myself that they were very confident and it looks like it didn't worked out. They have a crazy amount of Slash gen 5 to sell. Giant are on sale since a few months and the sale is still going...

Better to be ahead of the curve when it comes to inventory reductions. That way you can set the tone by picking a margin % you can deal with - anyone who comes after you has to match or exceed. If they go lower, fine, but they’ll be doing it at an unsustainable level. As for Trek - don’t forget that they own a significant % of their own retail fronts. This is particularly helpful when you’re trying to move old stuff because you don’t have retailers pushing back on you about having to stock dusty bikes.

I know this is the internet, but multiple things can be true at the same time. Could Gwin have been wanting to help a fellow 'merican? yes. Could it have not been possible to sign him for more based on the teams budget mid way through the year? yes. Could Dak have deserved better compensation? Yes. IFR could have "taken advantage" of the opportunity to sign Dak for less than they may have if the situation was different. "Taken advantage" does not have to be framed in the context of abusing a situation or person. It could just be that...
