Butch makes a very good point about how Snowshoe shuts down their entire operation to accommodate all of us, the race teams, the TV crews etc… I agree that there are probably very few resorts in the US who are willing to commit to hosting a race for 3-4 years let alone one race. Would guess that Yoann has a bigger marketing value to brands than most WCDH racers outside of the top 10 and dudes like Kade, Brendan etc. Remy is an absolute master at the marketing/business side of the game and a professional at delivering quality content week in week out. The reach of those dudes between YouTube videos and IG reels/posts is crazy. Odd that such a flat, boring "Enduro stage of a track" a) delivers one of the most exciting and unpredictable races every year, b) takes more of a toll on both riders and bikes than pretty much any other venue, and c) based on comments on WynTV has the best, most knowledgeable fans. Definitely seems like you'd want to avoid that place

The fact that he is getting paid that much to ride a brand of helmets that has bikes, but is NOT riding their bikes, rather riding competitors bikes, is the interesting part. Not if he's getting paid or not.

I'm confused, maybe I'm misreading this, but are you complaining that a mountain biker is getting paid? Remy makes great content, his videos are meticulous, and clearly he works hard at it. I feel like this is a place where we support riders.

I’m guessing it’s more of an impact than the enduro team they just cancelled. That might make some space for whatever salary he’s asking? Whether you’re able to handle his accent or not (I’m not sure why someone would have an issue with that), you can’t deny he brings more stoke and positive energy to the sport than most.

There is a local dude here who uses a stem mounted wahoo, couple of GPS watches and an iphone and records them all on strava, each will have discrepancies which will ultimately give him one device with a best time (usually the phone) There was a rumor that on one trail, there is a tricky chute/corner at the end, he literally took the wahoo off and threw the thing to the end of the segment to skip the feature lol
