Got to ride my countershox today for the first time: There‘s definitely a noticeable change in how the front end rides and tracks, not comparable to anything I could achieve with suspension setup or something else. The front wheel is in contact with the ground a lot more times and it takes the harsh impact out of big compressions. Only did a couple runs but keen to try it more over full days when arm pump becomes an issue. I want to try to make a mount for the rear swingarm to try how it feels on the unsprung mass...

Blimey that's quite the read . Have I understood that right ? teams can have up to 10 riders but they can only enter 4 in the race ? If so I'd like to volunteer my services as the 10th rider , free bike and kit without the pressure of actually racing . The Scott Carson of mountain biking . The reference to outside industry sponsorship in How teams get chosen leaves me uneasy , seems ripe for abuse .

The real reason for in frame storage....

I love Killy but it does not have a good track to race. Goat Skull is what the US Open races and it just isn't steep enough. They have the terrain to make a good Steep trail but not the support to maintain it. Whiteface which is rumored is awesome but hasn't had riding there in 5+ years and would be a great venue but they would need to invest a lot to get a WC track there.

It really makes me sad. So much of our current crop of top 30 riders came through the trenches. Would we even have Dunn at a world cup right now if he had tried to come up through the new supposed rules? I much prefer the any one is a threat when they are on one approach of old. Let people race god damn it.

The downside for me personally has to do with spending that much time away from my family. My comment wasn’t meant to suggest anything negative about Taiwan itself. I place a high value on getting to be at home with my family every night. I have spent the majority of my career in manufacturing and it’s a lesson I learned early on from fellow welders and other manufacturing/construction trades that spent time “getting the bag” on jobs that included a lot of time away. The vast majority of them regretted it and took large pay reductions (30-50%) to get away...
