Very good look for higher pivot frameworks from vital g-out pics. can see at neko's bike the main pivot way above the chainring, while on gwin's bike its lower and behind chainring/guard. also noticed gwin had no chain but running ochain, maybe wanting to repeat leogang? that must feel amazing!! I wonder if glidecore in a 40 is of any improvement to the old tech I mean, it makes sense to use the same tech across the product line, and it will probably not going to make things worse, but arent the main issue glidecore aims to solve is kinda non-existant on DC forks?

Honestly, the Reya is the first XC bike that I really, really want to try as a 6'3" individual. I feel like that jack nichelson nodding meme as I work my way down the geo chart on the XL. Edit: Can we also agree that peak bike industrial design is a straight top tube that aligns directly with the seat tube... connecting the top of the head tube to the rear axle with an un-interrupted straight line?

No, look at the bridge with the topology optimized arch. Finally a damper that "sits higher in the travel", never heard of that before. Probably should end up at full lockout with how many times the iterations sat higher in the travel than the ones before

New Fox 38 release date is March 26th 4pm UTC Nothing crazy - Glidecore air spring, X2 damper, speed hole arch. Weight starts at 2200g for 29" New 40 release date is March 19th 4pm UTC Similar treatment as the 38, but looks like a new mud guard and cassette tooling for the air top-cap

Re: IMBA (and other trail associations) besides them building almost exclusively flow trails, I find the biggest drawback is the mob mentality of people that take part. -Come in and gaslight local government into letting them be the judge jury and executioner regarding how the entire trail system will be built and managed moving forward. -Build exclusively flow. (Requires excavators) -Gaslight local government into requiring parking permits to support excavator trails people didn’t ask for. Parking used to free. -Extended and unnecessary trail closures whenever it even slightly rains. “It’ll ruin the flow berms bro, be a good trail steward...

Hey man, Charlie and company were selling IMBA SUCKS stickers and captioning videos of people smoothing concrete driveways and building slabs with smarmy comments like "IMBA trail crew building another sanctioned tech trail" like 12-15 years ago, which predates groad bikes and eebs by a solid 8 years or so. Core riders have been complaining about the proliferation of blue flow trails for at least 15 years now, but I guess the boogeyman has changed from IMBA to.... gravel bikes and 32 inch wheeled mountain bikes? If anything I can see the adoption of 32 inch bikes leading to another...

Don't make @sspomer come yell at us again... Do we have a list of everything expected at Sea Otter this year?

I just hope all the light/medium technical trails survive this XC Renaissance 32" madness. Ever since gravel bikes got popular, it seems like it has become standard practice to turn any non black diamond trail into a dirt version of a paved road. Kind of seems like everything is either a flow trail/fire road or the gnar gnar these days, and nothing in between.

I’d hanker a guess that most of us here have zero problem with 32 on gravel, rigid mtb, hardtails, and XC race bikes but we’re very wary of it going into disciplines with travel above those. Some of us got bamboozled by 150mm+ 29ers only to have to buy new bikes yet again to get the handling we want out of a mullet bike. We’re tired boss. Our bikes handle really good and we don’t need or want them to be faster. (non racer obv)

it's funny when the 32" "advantage" won't be an advantage when everyone is on one.

This is what companies want. You need a new bike bag, a higher price train ticket, a new car, and a new house for your new 32” bike. The Consumerism dream.

Not to mention the Square-Cube law making it increasingly hard to maintain a competitive W/Kg. I doubt there are any endurance athletes on earth who would ask a genie to be 6” taller.

Unfortunately that is not correct. RC, FC, and WB are all horizontal measurements. CSL is the point to point measurement from center of BB to rear axle, and there's no name (or need) for the equivalent version at the front.

Bike park rental fleet purchasing managers are licking their lips right now. All jokes aside, it's good to see Norco filling out their Range (pun intended). They've got everything from XC halo builds to entry hardtails to this new park bike, while still seeming a bit "core" with Brage and the DH team. It's refreshing compared to the appeal to Bentonville and Marin County dentists that Specialized is leaning into.
