Yeah, there is a big focus on the motor tech for obvious reasons, but battery tech is where the real future is, and china and its firms are all in on batteries. It's where you will get the greater range and lighter weight that the ebike market wants. On a more macro scale, battery tech (energy storage) has quietly changed the world in the last 20 years, and will completely remake it in the next 20. When you look into the economies of scale of current day solar and battery tech, it truly puts into prospective how antiquated oil and...

They missed the DJI train but amongst that and a normal rear triangle, the lede was buried a bit: there's different links so you can change the travel in addition to modular dropouts if 435mm chainstays aren't your fancy

There are some people (including me) who do not want full power tho. I just bought my first e-bike, and after trying the CX5 motor, it was clear to me that full power isn't remotely interesting to me. Where I tried the bike, after 1h of riding I had completed all the trails (6 laps), I wasn't motivated to keep on riding and didn't feel tired (except upper body hehe), and the bike felt like a tank while descending. Not super fun. I'm on the TQ60 (edit: Sight VLT TQ, for those wondering) now and it seems like it the...

Rode the new pivot at a shop over the weekend. I have a g4 levo. The new dji stuff is insanely fast, its only usable on roads. Its like surron response just with pedals. I dont see how something with this much power doesn't create conflict.

My comment "idler goes on swingarm" was a gross over simplification. An important point of context about the itrack patent is that the application was submitted in 2013. 26" wheeled dh bikes were still mainstream.

I’m pretty sure the guy that has the I-track patent lets anyone use it as long as they put a sticker on the bike. What is bullshit about that? Genuinely curious.

Another Reflex XL user here, tried a bunch of thicker grips and these hit the sweet spot. Ergon GA2 Fat were the previous go to but the Reflex XL has a bit more cush. Used to run ESI Chunky but they pack out too fast and I experienced some palm bruising as they are soft enough where you can get...

I was so excited for this to be released, only to be completely let down by "443mm chainstays found across all five sizes" 😢

My condolences to everyone who bought a current gen Levo at full price. There's zero chance the prices stay that level with a $5,000 Amflow around. Cheapest alloy Levo is $6,100 and the cheapest carbon Levo is on sale for $8,000 from it's MSRP of $9,200. (bonkers) Spesh was always dreaming with those prices, I mean even before the Amflow who would choose the Levo over a Vala that costs less? I'm a removable battery absolutist and would still get the Vala over the Levo. Luckily according to Amflow being able to NOT remove your battery quickly is now a...

Arc’teryx is in a very different position to most brands entering MTB, and the current numbers make it clear why they can afford to treat it as a fringe category without pressure. They sit inside the Technical Apparel segment of Amer Sports, which also owns Salomon, Wilson Sporting Goods and Atomic. That group context matters because it brings scale, shared sourcing, and a long track record of operating across multiple technical categories. Looking at FY25, the business is moving fast. Total revenue hit $6.57B, up 27%. Technical Apparel alone grew 30% to $2.86B, with 19% omni-comp growth. That tells you...
