2/18/2026 8:03pm I'm sorry this is pedantic but every VPP and DW link suspension design is already a four bar linkage

2/18/2026 4:38pm Tallboy is a beloved bike but I found it to be not quite what I was looking for. I had mine built up with an overforked Fox 36. The result was a 120mm bike that was barely better on the uphills and definitely worse on the downhills than my 150mm bike. I had a Transition Sentinel and Santa Cruz Tallboy in stable at the time and going back and forth between the two was pointless. The Sentinel was only slightly heavier and substantially better on the downs. Not to say the Tallboy is a bad bike but for my skills...

2/18/2026 1:07pm What's wrong with good ole tube patches? They work just as well on tires, good for fixing pinch flats near the bead, too. I never had one fail on me (Rema Tip Top).

2/18/2026 4:17am On a short chainstay bike you get a shorter wheelbase for the same cockpit size and head angle, so it's less stable and cuts a shorter turn. Your feet are closer to the rear wheel so it's easier to feel where it is. It's easier to push in and overwhelm just the rear tire, because when you push with your feet that's where the weight goes. You can turn with your feet more. You don't need to pull as hard on the bars to transfer weight or lift the front. That's what flickable means, and that's what people generally like...

2/18/2026 3:54am Put a plug in it trailside to get you out of the woods, then Rema TipTop tubeless patches (blue backing instead of red). They are stiffer so they don't stretch like inner tube patches do. There are very few tubeless tyres I haven't patched with them in the last 10 years, I punctured almost all of them and very rarely was it so late it made sense to throw out the tyre. On the other hand I patched week old tyres and ran them for most of the season patched. EDIT: if it's a really big gash and the patch...

2/17/2026 5:52pm This makes so much sense. Now I know!!! This whole time I could have been as fast as Gwin if I'd had access to the softer tire compounds.

2/17/2026 2:45pm My Bronson is overbuilt because I am a talentless hack, but it can be built for aggro trail duties with light duty suspension and wheels.

2/17/2026 2:43pm I love my Bronson v5 but it's closer to an Enduro bike than a general trail bike. I had a Smuggler v1 and that thing was a hoot but it was too easy for me to hit the limit of the bike (rather than skill limit). For that reason I'd never get a downcountry bike again. Only lesser travel bike that's tempted me has been the Druid.

2/16/2026 1:17pm I've been fiddling with the bleeders on a 36 all the time, heck I need to bleed the lowers when going from 0 to 30PSI (hybrid coil). I just don't miss the bleeders on my Intend but I don't ride big elevation changes either.

2/16/2026 1:13pm i guess i won't be playing around with nuts to release air, hopefully all goes well regardless as on my current 36 i do bleed them every now and then and it definitely works, can't say i've ever felt a difference though. sick, i'm looking forward to an Intend fork, finally pulled the trigger on one!

2/16/2026 9:47am Not really an issue as much as it would be a welcome addition. It is somewhat easy to burp Intend forks by loosening the top nut a bit with a 10mm socket and pushing down. Better than flipping the bike over and using a little zip tie in the wiper seal. The Italian Guy puts bleeders in the crown. Speaking of Intend forks, I was at Bootleg Canyon in Nevada this past weekend and there is a trail feature there known affectionately as The Poop Chute. It's a jagged solid rock waterfall full of notches and ledges. It has a...

Simply have any PUSH fork or shock serviced at our HQ or one of our many global and domestic Authorized Service Centers. Upon completion of service, your product warranty is renewed for another year, even if it was out of warranty when you sent it in.
