1/27/2026 5:29pm I think if someone isn’t capable of opening a top cap to change a spring, then I am going to assume that that same person isn’t capable of opening a top cap to adjust volume tokens. And then I am going to assume that someone who is not interested enough or capable of swapping tokens, is most likely not even interested in achieving optimal performance from either air or coil. Hard for me to believe that person will even be able to set proper air pressure or service an air spring. So in the end, I think that same person...

1/27/2026 5:28pm Primoz, my guy… I think you are WAY over exaggerating what it takes to swap coils inside a fork. You can do it in a parking lot with a few tools and a few minutes. Just because it can be done in a sterile laboratory with fancy tools doesn’t mean that’s how it has to be done every time.

1/26/2026 10:27am The 3 syringes i have (2x Yellow EZMTB & 1x Red as pictured) all have a female 6mm metric o'ring sealed fitting. Its a brass insert that you can easily convert to hydraulic or pneumatic fittings if you wish. Its even compatible directly with a banjo fitting/bolt from a brake caliper. If you check out this link, they are the A type syringe. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005192030360.html

1/25/2026 3:52am I have one of those red ones and some identical yellow ones that came with an EZMTB kit. They are really good and rebuildable if needed. I've used them for Shimano, Magura and Hope systems for years. Never used them on a brake which requires Millibar level vacuum but they've never 'burped' in normal use.

1/24/2026 4:14pm Speaking of syringes, this $4.50 turkey flavoring grocery store special has similar hardware/interface to the $100+ SRAM kits, gladly accepting their attachments, as pictured. No idea if it actually works for a bleeding job or if one could pull any useful vacuum with it.

1/24/2026 11:35am Mondraker is cutting it pretty close if they ship a 2.8 coil with a 70mm travel shock. Get the 3.25 coil as recommended by Fox, it has no impact on bike geometry and you won't be risking locking the coil and destroying your shock (and consequently your body) during a bottom out event with a few extra turns of preload.

1/23/2026 10:06am It really depends on the linkage that they use, and how they try to preserve the kinematics. A lot of the time that is how it is done, since it reduces the number of parts that they need to make. You already need to make 4 different front triangles for an S-XL size run, why make 4 different size rear triangles or 4 different size chainstays and seatstays? Keeps inventory organization easier, fewer skus etc and is just practical. You can also keep the kinematics more or less the same between sizes, since all the moving parts of the linkage...

1/22/2026 4:51pm Yes, reading torque specs is helpful, but I think that's a pretty high bar to expect for every one of the hundreds of bolts on a bike. Deiter Rams is a pretty smart designer, and he said good design is honest, and it should make a product understandable and useful. Speccing a big tool interface with a low torque spec doesn't seem very honest or understandable, and stripping the threads of your master cylinder doesn't seem to make the product useful, either. Another smart person, a park ranger who was teaching my group of friends about trail design and maintenance...

1/21/2026 6:39am Did you work on the Level Ts though? No bleeding edge port on the caliper, shitty access of the lever reach bolt, generally way messier on both ends than all other brakes I worked on apart from the Hope master cylinder shenanigans when you unscrew the syringes. The whole spiel with two syringes and need of vacuum is just silly...

1/20/2026 3:28pm I recently bought a bike with SRAM Level T brakes. Bleeding them should never be this unpredictable / random / hard. WTF SRAM.
