2/11/2026 1:09pm Do people adjust their cockpits when it's time for thicker or more padded gloves? Or when they install thicker grips? Or when they ride with/without chamois?

2/11/2026 6:07am Blur and V10 are their best selling non ebikes?! Maybe I'm in a bubble in the northeast US, but I know 4 people who bought a SC bike in the past year and they are all Nomads. And others already owned Bronsons. All the middle aged and old guys around here with Santa Cruz ride Tallboys or Hightowers. Can't remember the last time I saw a Blur, and Nomads are so good in the park that only the hardcore DH racers buy V10s.

2/10/2026 5:21pm If Vee makes the casing, I wouldn't be suprised to see it show up in the tires they produce for other brands. Anybody know who else Vee makes tires for? I think they make the E13 tires, and probably others. Maaaaaaybe Specialized tires too?

2/10/2026 11:05am I agree with others that 35-50mm is a safe bet, and that the guy in the video you posted is a bit of a kook. I'm running a 60mm stem on my long travel bike, which is clearly "the wrong size," and it's fine. The reach length of the bike is a little shorter than I'd prefer, so I made it feel longer with the long stem. I've got a 40mm stem on my shorter travel bike (because it has a slightly longer reach length than I'd prefer), and it takes roughly zero feet for me to get used to...

2/6/2026 4:20am Interesting read and some good thoughts here. Im not really the target audience Since I do all my own service, More because I cant help myself - I like to understand how things work and how to get the longest life from a product I spent money on, as a bonus It's quite fun and Takes up some of my Free time, which I luckily seem to be in excess of. Now, I have been caught busy before some Events especially during summer, so I have dropped my Bike/s at the shop/s in the past(or for warranty work eek) It...

2/3/2026 3:05pm 10mm is not a big different, but the difference in intention between a 120mm bike and a 160mm bike is pretty enormous. Frame weight and frame flex should be radically different on both platforms because of the much higher peak forces you expect a 160mm bike to be absorbing, as it's basically going to get ridden like a DH bike by a subset of the population. I would imagine a 120mm bike with the same layup as a 160mm bike would feel like it's made of 2x4's. Additionally, it's shockingly hard to keep head angles, seat angles, bottom bracket heights...

2/3/2026 3:02pm I don't think the 5010 was ever a "downcountry" bike. I think it was always an enduro bike in short-travel-trail-bike's clothing. Tallboy was clearly that downcountry bike and Santa Cruz made that distinction pretty clear. The only reason I didn't get a 5010 as my short travel trail bike is because all the marketing material Santa Cruz put out and all their podcasts they did (Santa Cruz has a podcast called "Roller Door" that's actually pretty cool and goes deep on a lot of different SC bike-related topics) and all the reviews and all the dealers said it's not an...
