Can verify that Megatower clearance can be tight. I've had a slight wobble with a DHR2 that was rubbing. In terms of the HD6, I demo'd one in Squamish soon after release when I was in the market for a new bike and was not overly impressed. It felt sluggish and a bit dull on the way down; however, it was quite maneuverable. It was when the trail pointed up that it really eliminated any real interest in the bike. It felt like the position I was in was tough to get along with, and I feel like a full...

Mine arrived today. I wasn't expecting the inner sleeves, but they are super comfortable and feel bombproof. Thanks for the tip!

I had those, but I bent one pretty badly since they were all ln the longer side. Currently using Clik and they have been flawless.

I've got a little conversation piece for everyone—I've been riding a Maxxis' High Roller a lot the past year and a half, and was curious how Continental's Argotal would compare since it's pretty similar. I rode them back to back the past few months as a front tire to see what the deal was. And to try and better understand why I've shifted to really liking these mixed-conditions, open tread designs so much as a front tire over the popular Assegai-esque designs. Here is the article - https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/argument-against-transition-knobs-con… The TLDR is that they both are great tires for a wider...

If you advance the piston past the timing port with the lever in the resting position, you have now created a fully closed system between the lever piston and the caliper pistons, where any expansion in fluid volume (as it heats up) will cause the caliper pistons to advance and thus, brake. It's the whole reason the timing port and the expansion reservoir exist to begin with. The only "real" way to adjust the amount of dead stroke in a brake system is to move the timing port or change the hydraulic/mechanical design by altering the ratio between level and...

I did the mod with 9mm OD bearings and I would not recommend it. Yes, dead stroke is short when you dial the bite point all in, but the pistons will fail to retract properly and after a few miles, the brakes would lock up, both ends, regularly. To fix this, you have the dial out the bite point until...

FWIW, "analog" kinda only means non-digital and not really non-electric.

Here's my setup. I have a 11sp XX1 drive train so I made the guides smaller with velcro tape. Ninja fin on the underside for extra silence.

Why would it kill a lot of sensitivity? I bet it takes very little force to make it sit flush despite the 2mm of preload.

There is a wide variance when it comes to bearing size, axle interface, and end cap interface amongst hub manufacturers. With the one-piece lower leg design of a conventional fork, these variances don't really play a big role. With an inverted fork, the hub ties the two stanchions together to keep the legs from moving independently of each other. The more robust the hub, the more robust the entire system is. Hubs like the I9 Hydra, and Hope Pro, for example, use a large bearing with hub end caps that interface with the ID of the bearing. This provides good...
