Don't worry everyone: I already had a meeting planned with @sspomer this afternoon, so I'll be sure to tell him on all of your behalf what a terrible person he is and how we're not mad, just disappointed.

As someone who just doesn’t have the time to scroll through the front page of the Hub for new and interesting posts/threads all the time, I can’t say I’m overly excited about this decision. I really liked having the most interesting topic all neatly packed up into one single thread, which I could follow and catch up with the discussion every once in a while. Won’t be as easy and convenient for me to follow under the new format.

The copy is clunky enough to dispel any doubt. Backwards rear as front wheel as the joke was a stretch, but the vaporspokes gave that away. No way. This is beepborp BS. (Hyped to use this for my first time ever, hope it’s correct usage) CLANKERS!

This 100% - peoole get too hung up on single details about a damper without inderstanding it only makes up for a tiny fraction of the performance - you can make almost any damper curve with multiple different valves but some will be easier than others, so each manufacturer will prioritise what they think achieves their specific goals. A "poppet" can be combined with a shimmed main piston to be linear or even progressive, while shims on both can be extremely digressive, there is a lot more to is than the basic valve design. Also "poppet" gets used a blanket...

Damn I just love this set of trinity brakes, such a joy to look at and use. Want to get some sinter green pads soon to test if the resonance disappears (and if it gives them even more bite). For anyone wondering if you can use a 220 rotor on the back of a propain tyee 6 AL in L + 29" wheels, yes you can (with an extra adaptor on top). Couldn't find this info before buying it for myself so I'll save you the anxiety.

Thanks for the math award. I don’t even practice so it’s double nice. We are also very handsome here on the messageboards. That bike is super dumb looking.

Is the riding like the Maah Daah Hey trail there? I remember that doing those 100 miles on a burly 170/160mm bike with a CCDBA wasn't optimal, and that water management was a major PITA indeed. I'd get as many strap-on water bottles as possible if I were to do it again.

Wouldn't bigger/longer knobs just make it less of an Allrounder and make it grip worse on compact surfaces? The number on trait of that thread design is that you are never really on the wrong tire apart from extrem circumstances.

trx Liked a reply to forum topic What are people putting on their top-tube accessory mounts?

11/22/2025 4:32pm
I have a DH bike with the top tube mount, and I wanted just a small multi tool for the occasional lever adjustment etc, but not the whole pack of pump, tubes etc. So I’ve designed this little 3d printed part, and it came out great, it’s rock solid and doesn’t rattle. Uses the original OneUp strap. If anyone is interested I can upload it somewhere Smile

IME, caring for one's customers and employees is one of the first things to go out the window when PE gets involved in a business. I'm sure there have to be exceptions, but 3 companies and now 7 CEOs later in my career have definitely made my previous Cautious Optimism regarding changing rein holders morph into Prove Me Wrong. So far I haven't been.

The problem with that prototype was that it didn't use enough aluminum.
