$5 on Gamux x Manitou if Reece stays with those partners. Seems like they're hellbent on trying everything. The thigh-grippers/femoral artery shredder device will need redesigned to fit those 32" wheels though

In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

Square hole-ins. We don't just carry a heritage, we drop it, kick it, trim off the edges, cut a square hole in it and proudly hold it up sideways.

I've always thought most of the stiffer feelings under braking were caused by binding as the fork deflects rearward.. Maybe not as bad with the bigger forks of today, buts still noticeable..

There was an interview with Kolb in German about his new contract with the syndicate and to me it was almost as if he was dancing on raw eggs to not say the name Greenland when talking about his new team mates and how he is looking forward to ride with them. I took this as a sign that Greenland will not ride for SC in 2026.

Not really a weird choice to bring either along. If they're the easiest/cheapest to pay for travel, then why not? The end of the race season doesn't mean the end of contractual obligations. Gotta rep who pays you till the end date on the contract like a professional. It's definitely a bit weird to see riders who've moved onto new teams in media for their old team, but if the media is made under contract, why not get the most out of the employee/asset

Tippie isn’t competitive, and you’re not really hiring him to ride. He's basically a marketing ambassador. You aren’t paying him to even ride, really. He has a skill set that’s beyond riding and something that most people, regardless of their riding ability, don’t have. He’s not really a “modern” influencer, because social media isn’t his medium, but a brand would basically “sponsor” him in the same way as an influencer, not as a racer/freerider. You’re paying for the personality and story, not the talent.

Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

Tippie was in NWA quite a bit over the last couple of years as part of YT events. Everything said on that writeup is true. He's unflagging in his positivity and stoke. He includes everyone and interact with everyone from the kookiest kid to the most seasoned pro. He's almost uncomfortably positive and full of stoke at times, but a brand really couldn't ask for a better ambassador. I hope he lands somewhere. Dude is a legend, and his story of climbing out of the dark depths of addiction is inspirational.

Tying back to the upcoming WC changes — I absolutely love watching DH racing at every level: World Cups, Hardline, Monster Series, Crankworx, you name it. I’m a big fan of having Juniors included in the WC. They make for great viewing — watching guys like Tyler Waite, Oli Clark, the Alrans, and Asa absolutely send it has been so good. That said, I’ll admit I only tune in for those standout riders, and I’m guessing a lot of others are the same. It’s awesome for their development, and I’d be bummed to see it go, but realistically, it wouldn’t...
