First and above all else, my thoughts are with Adolf and his family. That was the most grotesque crash I have ever seen. Background: I competed on the Freeskiing World Tour from 2001-2009. In the span from ~03 to 2011, three individuals died competing including one person in Alaska at an event that I was at, waiting up top to drop on my run. That experience has had lasting repercussions on my life. There are still big mountain freeskiing contests and people are still risking it all at these events. I still watch them. Rampage Take: There is something fundamentally...

Emil has reported on insta -- " suffered a big dislocation of my right hip that they managed to pop back in at the hospital… but will most likely need to get surgery on it to clean the socket up from pieces of bone. Besides that I am pretty much unscratched!"

Tough day yesterday. I was sort of watching off and on while working on a truck project outside. Unfortunately, I was watching during Silva's crash. It was absolutely awful to see. It was crazy how Rogatkin uttered, "No!" halfway through Silva's double flip attempt. He could clearly see that he wasn't going to make it and knew that the resultant crash would be catastrophic.

Not showing a crash (insulating people from the realities) won’t accomplish much for rider safety. It will definitely be better for the sport as people won’t be scared away from viewing. Many other sports have matured to be open and honest about the realities and dangers. It is nice, however, that they don’t replay the crash and zoom in on the lifeless athlete. That is a respect thing though, in my opinion.

Well there are laces, so we know it’s not a freeride team with Finley K.

As I understand it, and what has been discussed previously, 4 per class is the limit..

Is more than four riders per category prohibited, or is it only your top 4 that score points for your team? Good though all 5 riders are, reallistically you wouldn't bet on all 5 making finals each week.

current mondraker is a factory team for at least 2 seasons! MS (Markus Stöckl) WAS mondraker (till 2023), then intense (2024) and is now zerode.

I think it's less dropping Dak, more not giving him as much as either Dak hoped for or making some budget for Ronan and Pinky. I have a world of respect to Dak, especially on his comeback journey, and I think he can contend for the win - but put on Mondraker's hat and think about the 3 elite male riders you have : 1. Ronan - Got a win this year, rides crazy (good views), young, redbull helmet, not consistent. 2. Pinky - Pretty consistent in the final top 10, young, has potential, still transitioning into elite imo 3...

Liked racing with my friends. Didn't like getting stabbed in the back or have butt hurt happen you don't know about and a shuttle/lift be awkward. I'd rather race on another team & still do laps with friends. But boy it would be so easy to hop on the production version you both helped develop & just go ride. Someone mentioned Dak needing a certain bike layout that's unique to just him. I don't hear that when he talks. I hear him saying he wants to be ON whatever his bike for World Cups is as early as possible in...

Yeah... he never said anything about "I'm not being renewed" or "I'm being dropped." Purely speculative, but reading between the lines, that would indicate to me that an offer was made to Dak, but that it probably was a reduction in his previous compensation (which is understandable from Mondraker's point of view when mainly looking at race results this season in comparison to the other riders on the team) and Dak felt he could get a better deal hitting the market (which is also understandable from Dak's point of view... as his 'comeback story' provides a lot of intangible value...

I'd like to join the pile-on. I get a laugh every time some marketing hack uses "space-age technology" to hype up a product. The space age ended 50 years ago.

Since I wrote something too long that nobody will read, I'll just write it again... "Great riding, great builds, terrible editing, and underwhelming mentality." - Sir Lepigpen, year of our lord 2025 Find me the person saying the builds were shit and we can have that convo with them. If we get stuck in the 'you cant judge his riding/builds' narrative we will never get anywhere in the 'THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN EDITED DIFFERENTLY' conversation (and using the backyard jump footage INSTEAD OF the darkfest and NZ footage is... a choice)

Andreas Kolb’s 2025 World Cup Season: A Tale of Two Halves The first half of Kolb’s 2025 was not what one might have expected from him, especially considering that from 2022-2024 he finished 4th, 5th, and 6th in the Overall: In the first 5 races of 2025 he managed only one top 10 finish, failed to qualify for one race and got a DNF in another. After 5 races he was 21st in the Overall standings, with only 248 points. Then something clicked, and he put together a super-solid second half: In the final 5 races he had 2 podiums...

I remember watching a race in the 90s where Missy Giove flatted and the tire was off the rim. I remember thinking she was going to damage the rim and not have another for the next race.

I'll put money that is a test mule for geo and kinematics testing. Has zip tie cable routing, different shock mount options… Santa Cruz only does alloy as an afterthought. But making a Nomad/Megatower dual crown capable makes a lot of sense. Hopefully they'll make those two models more interchangeable with a linkage swap like Trek did with the new Fuel.
