Good job the track isn’t mega high speed where covering lumpy bits of your bike in plastic would give you an aero advantage

Speed suits look a bit odd but still better than the ice hockey player look of the early 2000's. They've clearly skirted around the UCI's poorly worded rule which means its neither the perfect engineering solution, nor good looking; which annoys me. Electronic adjustment I'm all for. But I'm less sure of automatic adjusting. By all means set up your...

Don't be sad. I struggle to wrap my head around inflation too. Sometimes I find it helpful to recalibrate like this: Adjusted for inflation the MSRP of a 2012 Sworks Stumpjumper FSR would be $2,494.63 more than the MSRP of a 2024 Sworks Stumpjumper FSR. Adjusted for inflation the MSRP of the most affordable 2012 FSR would be $748.51 more than the MSRP of their most affordable 2024 full suspension. i.e. prices have actually fallen, over 20%; while bikes have certainly improved, significantly. There are still big innovations like what I'm doing, or Lal, Trust, or ebikes; and there were...

reach changes about 20 to 25mm between sizes. If you truly are sensitive to it by feel, that might be annoying if it puts you right between sizes. Choose another brand if thats the case but for every person that puts off, its brought another rider in. also remember reach is measured to the top of the head tube. a...

Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

I love gold the look of it the taste of it the smell of it the texture. I love gold so much that I even lost my genitalia in an unfortunate schmelting accident.

I can see the appeal to them of consolidating the line (combining the current stumpy and epic evo) but round my way the Epic Evo seems to be the weapon of choice for the amateur XC racer, and looks like the Spesh pros too, not many Epic World Cups being raced in anger. Not sure they'd stomach the weight of...

UK based bike reviewer Guy Kesteven said the following a few weeks ago: "It’s 50 years since Mike Sinyard sold his VW camper to buy a bunch of bike parts from Italy and launch Specialized Bicycle Components, so the Californian brand are bound to go big this year. In fact, I’ve already ridden two superb new bikes from them that...

As founder of Rock Shox, Paul Turner had a very significant influence on MTB suspension. After Rock Shox, Paul founded Maverick, the Speedball was the first mainstream dropper post, modern geometry would not have developed as it has without dropper posts.

1st gen uses a proprietary valve and shock pump. Rebound/compression damping is closed all the way once 2nd gen comes out. 2nd gen has no valve at all.

Makes more sense than Norco. Starting his own team but still riding a V10 (and fox suspension) that he has significant input in designing and he is notoriously picky about setup. He has some history in attracting slightly left field sponsors, and extracting (presumably large amounts of) sponsorship money from smaller brands - clifbar, mous cases, o’neal. I’ve flicked back...
