Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Was Alden Pate back then I think. Sam tagged them in a post just the other day.
I was under the impression Crestline were just sponsoring Sam with frames and he was running his own program. Not sure where I got that from but would make sense that he could be looking for a team if that was the case.
Vertical shock, quite a curvy downtube and a deep blue you can just about see up by the head tube...
Could it be a Fury?

With GT factory racing no more it would make sense for PON to get their "minor"/feeder team on the cheaper GT brand and leave the santa cruz for the syndicate.
Yeah that’s what hes doing, he has been pitting under the sr suntour pits at world cups last season. Believe he meantioned on a podcast that hes gonna have some young kiwi pinners on the same set up/program as him for racing world cups
I know it's just another rumour, but this was posted back in September (page 4).
Lol, no.
Union team will be on trek frames, all sram/rockshox transmission suspensions and brakes, enve wheels and still on deity. I've seen one of them on the hills.
I'll keep letting everyone know, Ronan on Mondraker.
Coulanges on Propain
I’d like to see Ronan on something else personally.
what if Giant Factory Off Road brought on Dunne and McDonald ? I think they’d look awesome on that Glory Advanced colour scheme, and the whole Giant team hucked the Greg Minnar triple in the last wood section at MSA , practice, qualifying and racing. Both Ronan and Brook would fit in nicely I think
it was not a secret that mcdonald hated the mondraker bike, especially two years ago. they got him an updated frame prior to the start of last season, but no idea how much different it was or how much tinkering they did to it during the year.
if as i suspect, mondraker fields dunne, norton, and pinkerton and the three do not get good results...mondraker either needs to revisit the drawing board or just come out and say: we strive to make the prettiest bikes, not the fastest.
Here's an interesting little bit of information from the ongoing bankruptcy proceedings of Wiggle/CRC: as part of the public process, the administrators have published a list of debts owed by Wiggle/CRC...there are some huge amounts on this list, they pretty much owe money to every cycling brand in the world and then some...but they also still owe Sam Hill GBP 35k (and his mechanic, Jacy, is owed GBP 4k). Team manager Nigel Page must have seen it coming because he apparently got his HAHA.
More information here if for some reason you want to dig in deeper: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/0266…
If RJ Chicken and Sons can collect, they might be able to sponsor Hart.
How many other people just looked up Sam Hill's house?
didn‘t they just sold it?
Has that effectively doxxed all of their pro athletes, like that's their actual addresses right?
The scallywags owe Alex Rankin £2k.. give the man his money!! If anyone deserves a payout it's him.
His pants say Union on them.
Got to feel for the other Nukeproof SRAM riders a bit, scrolling through that list each of them is owed in the range of £1k - £10k…
Continental owes them GBP 62.38. I guess even Wiggle couldn't get any Kryptotals.
Has he gotten along with any bikes since he was on Trek World Racing forever ago? At some point you have to start looking at yourself and your decision making. And to that effect, why would anyone pay him to ride their bike if he has not produced results in a few seasons at this point and has a reputation for being negative about his equipment.
Have thought the same, I know he has been through a lot but does he deserve a spot on a WC team? Maby not, but I do want to see him with some kind of deal in the industry.
I think I speak for most people when I say we just want to see him happy and hauling down a fast downhill track, regardless of results, but sadly that's not how World Cup downhill always works, so fingers crossed for the Bulldog, especially after one of the most horrible crashes we've seen at a World Cup in recent times, and the very very impressive recovery that has followed
It's a tough one. He's a fan favourite and definitely draws eyeballs and so I would imagine commands a pretty decent salary (also managed by Martin Whitely?) but with the new format and lackluster results that may be a hard sell to teams in this environment. Danny is different IMO, a bit of an off season last year but still a clear top 10 contender.
super hard to really know. Taking a look at roots and rain (https://www.rootsandrain.com/rider3062/brook-macdonald/results/), things really fell off for him in 2019, the year of the injury.
in World Cups 2018 he went:
DNF; 11; 9; 9; 3; 53; 3; 35 at World Champs. That's a damn solid year. 4 top ten, 2 top two. Average 17th.
in World Cups 2019 he went
13, 9, 12, (1/147 crankworks); 6; 15; 30; 16....then the crash at world champs. Average 14th.
Both of those years were with Mondraker.
Keep your eyes peeled for MS Racing announcing that they won’t be going racing due to no frame sponsor
Reading through it….. and they are owing some big brands a lot of money. Sadly could see more companies go down if debt doesn’t get paid, along with the individuals.
Cambal off from crank brothers shoes, but keeps pedals and wheels?
What team uses crank b pedals and wheels and another shoe brand (giro, five ten, fox etc etc?)
Transmission seems like a really weird choice for DH, unless they've got a DH version up their sleeve...?
Three kiwis flying the Union flag in 24 also
