Why is mountain biking so afraid of actually requiring endurance or even pedaling ( Lift assistance for 350ft vert)?

Personally I relish having to factor my fitness for timed stages when I just climbed 1000ft.

Can't deny... A cockpit with fewer cables would be pretty sick

If I read that correctly you may be able to control the dropper via the shifter. That is something I would be willing to try. Depending on the position of the paddles, the sprint button may be viable.

A different (lesser) media source mentioned that SRAM will release pricing for individual components in about 4 weeks. This option is appealing -even as a shimano loyalist- if I'm not locked into the stupid $ that SRAM's asking for cassettes and chains. If they can offer the...more

I love the idea of an instant wireless dropper, simply because it means one less cable. But $800!!??? Wow. As for the wireless drivetrain, it tries to solve a problem that doesn't exist. There is nothing wrong with cable shifting - its simple, easy to fix and easy to...more

Probably should have thrown in there that I would rather see the video you posted more than a video of a post going up and down.

Well, we thought about that but thought seeing a dropper go up and down was kinda boring. Also, it’s reallllly hard getting a shot that isn’t just crotch. Instead we figured showing Jon shredding his Wreckoning which has a 34.9mm seat tube (a diameter the new Bachelor comes in)...more

As an owner of the aluminum version, I say go test ride one before you make an assumption based on geo. That DB does look nice for the price but no single speed option so out for me.

At 6'7"/200lbs, I've broken about a dozen or so frames in my time, steel and alloy. I choose, or chose back before my MS, to ride hard. I just don't see current carbon holding up having seen so many cracked carbon frames come through the shop. Never could afford one myself. I am super...more
