The cynic in me wonders if the reason for the stop-use notice isn't actually that someone on the assembly line was installing snap-rings the wrong way around and now they all have to be checked.

I actually thought the same, especially because the official Sram rebuild guide shockingly says about the SID snap ring "Retaining rings have a sharper-edged side and a rounder edged side. Installing retaining rings with the sharper-edged side facing the tool will allow for easier installation and removal."

HOWEVER, the ZEB uses a wider snap ring that seems to not have a "smooth side".

So I dunno.

It does seem snap ring installation related, but for almost a year?

There's 2 snap rings in these new forks, a round / wire type that holds the inner tube in place, then you install the air spring perch, then there's a flat snap ring at bottom of stanchion holding the perch.  Neither are the style that you need snap-ring pliers to remove.  The air spring perch has a flared end that's supposed to sit against the bottom flat snap ring.  I'm wondering if maybe some of them were assembled with the perch in upside down.  What's strange is the Lyrik shares the same design/arrangement but isn't affected.

I'm looking forward to get some crankbros flats resoled (took a punt on severely discounted colourway, and have found the rubber is terrible). The uppers are great, and would like to see how they are with decent rubber.

Does anyone have experience having some flat shoes resolleded with the Unparallel dotty rubber? Can't find any direct reviews or experience online.

TIA

Edit : the tech rumour rumour would be that the northern hemisphere is going into winter (when most magazines/websites tend to run an article advising running flats) and 5.10 freeriders, freerider pros and both specialized 2Fo have all been discontinued.

Unparallel shoes and RC hellions are also seem none existent.

Struggling to find anything in the uk in a size 10 (uk)

I can’t speak to the re-soling, but I can confirm that the Unparallel rubber is incredibly sticky. Like possibly the stickiest ever made kinda sticky…

I've been seeing a few clips of these guys from aussie seaotter, MSC Moto making mtb stems now. They've been making moto stems for a long time IMG 5733

Who are you looking to have do it?

I’ve been wanting to do exactly that as well after seeing someone doing a lot of cool swaps on IG. Would love to convert a handful of shoes to it if it’s that good

If its logistically doable, you have Shoe Doctor here in Slovenia (they offer a mail in service too). They are well known for resoling climbing shoes but also do hiking and mtb shoes and use dotty for the latter at least.

I had my Terrex Cross Trails resoled three years ago and since they're local, I managed to get them to keep the toes and heels intact for hiking performance. The resoling coincided with a reduction in riding, but I've still done more than 150 riding days on them including hike a bikes. And they look like this (caveat, looks like I'm very easy on my shoes for whatever reason):

Seen it offered on Instagram from South Wales Resoles. Just trying to gauge if the Unparallel rubber is any good.

@Primoz that looks like a tidy job! Is that the Unparallel rubber? How is the grip compared with 5.10 or specialized 2fo?

I know it makes no difference whatsoever to the performance - but the way they have used different orientation of the dots between the two shoes really upsets me.

About 8 years ago, I took an old pair of shoes (can't remember what they were, maybe five tens, maybe specialized) to a rock climbing shop.  They put the classic five ten dotty sole on them.  They have the soles for some of the guide/approach shoes that five ten makes.  It was super cheap too, under 50$.

Cross-post from the e-bike thread. Honda has just entered the e-MTB game with the RN0, which is powered by an all-new Shimano motor (the name of which will only be officially unveiled in a few days, but we can pretty much share everything else now) - first look and ride impressions here: https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/first-ride-honda-enters-e-mtb-game-all-new-rn0.

Matt Beer from Pinkbike posted this on his story yesterday. The frame lines look like Transition. Do we think it’s the new 6 bar sentinel? The song choice also makes me wonder if it’s a Ministry cycles bike. Or if transition is licensing the 3VO platform. IMG 5513

I have had great luck with unparallel climbing shoes, now I have to try the bike shoes. A cobbler who will resole a climbing shoe will frequently also be willing to do a MTB shoe at a reasonable price. I would have them use climbing rubber personally.

There's some kid who got into an argument here and ever since has downvoted lots of things at random. Though it also appears that people don't like you asking about downvotes? Your post here has seven downvotes as of my reading.

Not being able to see who is doing the downvote (like you can with upvotes) is pretty wack.

Either show who gives them or get rid of them IMO.
