Off topic but everyone in BJJ is on juice, it’s like saying Ronnie Coleman isn’t the greatest bodybuilder cuz of PEDs. You have to assume a lot of mtb racers are on PEDs, there’s no way the testing is any good. They can’t even figure out how to route a b line.
I mean the testing is good enough to pop graves and rude for a water bottle supplement and maes for medication the ews’s own supplied doctor prescribed.
I doubt there’s much cheating at all at the upper levels. Probably some in your local cat 1 xc race on the other hand.

Doping is always a step ahead, only the dumb dopers get caught

I think those were by accident, that’s why they got caught.

Having resisted the temptation of a sarcastic reply, "course marking" and "anti-doping control" are handled by different people.
Doping is always a step ahead, only the dumb dopers get caught
This is only true in a certain ecosystem. To not get caught you need significant amounts of money to fund the doping at the edges. Most athletes don’t have it.
doping was widely discussed in EWS circles pre UCI merger. The fact doping in sport is illegal in parts of Europe regardless of whether or not your governing body is a wada signitory, and that’s probably what pushed EWS over the edge.
At the same time, posting in forums claiming specific, named, athletes have doped, without proof, is shitty behaviour.

Well yeah, but it's stupid. It devalues the brand. It would be better to just list the bike at the lower price, make that the retail price shown, than to list a brand new model that doesn't seem to have had any press or marketing yet at a marked down sale price. Spots been in a tough spot for a while, and I honestly find what they're doing with the leaf spring link super interesting and want them to succeed.
Any bike bringing Quagmire into the conversation gets my money. 😅

I ride exactly the same trails as I used to on the fleet of enduro bikes I've had over the years, but now I do it on an optic built like an enduro bike (but with 140/125 travel).
Same trails, different dynamics. lots of market lost to e-bikes obviously but for the rest, it'll come back around I think.

Enduro is going through a multilayered image crisis, but still the largest segment of bikes within my friend group.
Meanwhile dual sus single crown overall still seeing plenty of updates. Did rider perception/wants/needs change or should the definition of enduro bike be malleable and rhyme with mall fountain?
My prediction of super enduro bikes with dual crowns has yet to pay out, but it will. Mark my words.
This but they must be marketed as park bikes. I wonder how the Status 170 DH sold. As far as I’m concerned every rental fleet should be those instead of 200mm travel DH race bikes.
I was thinking the other day about how disappointing the Nomad update was and how that translates to the bike industry still being screwed because serial buyers of bikes and frames (like us here) are just not excited to drop $3,500+ on any of these new frames.
Combine this with the sheer amount of interesting bikes/frames in the back catalog that I’d love to try and are dirt cheap used: High pivot Optic, Range, Dreadnaught/Druid, Enduro, Tyee, Spindrift, Spur V1, SB165, Meta V5, Revel, HD6.
Maybe it’s just the season of life I’m in after buying a new frame every year since 2019

If they keep the status DH in the lineup it’s gonna sell great given the price of the new demo. They look like great bikes, tons of shops have them for sale for 3k right now. My local shop has one and I want bad.

Gas Gas had the right idea with the moto-inspired replaceable plastics kits for their ECC ebikes. How many carbon frames become landfill waste from rock strikes or crashes where a sacrificial "fairing" could have taken the blow? If the industry wants to improve durability, this is the right place.
A number of my plastic Treks and one plastic Norco died this way. The frame "protection" these big brands use is embarrassing.
When Evil first launched with the Revolt in alloy I think they had quite a few warranty frames. They replaced all or nearly all. Not sure if material, fabrication, heat treating or what, but I remember a lot of them breaking. That was like 15 years ago, if not longer.
I think the Undead (the carbon DH bike) were much more reliable. Then they shifted their focus to trail and enduro bikes.
Since then, Sorge and others have ridden their enduro (Wreckoning) bike at Rampage and such without seeing that being an issue. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an Evil today.
Be so cool to see an Evil DH bike again. When Evil first launched with the Revolt in alloy I think they had quite a few warranty...

I remember a picture floating around of a full size dumpster full of the aluminum frames

Mondraker releasing what looks to be a big travel bike or just a single crown Summum tomorrow
Replacing the SuperFoxy?
Any idea if a new Raze is in the pipeline?

Looks to be a 170mm mullet park bike
Higher spec model
Park bikes shouldn’t have droppers and dinner plates on them
Highland disagrees

some would say bikes shouldn’t have motors either but here we are.
evil DH bike?
Madrone with a DH set up is rad!

Sitting on a coffin... Sure lines up with something along the lines of "Undead".
The question is...have they learned from last time???
What happened last time?
They all broke and evil nearly went under.
The last time they built a DH bike?

My bad, that's the photo.
They look perfectly fine to me??? (The lawn chairs)
Pinch bolts at the head tube???
