Didn't really show how the shock works. Also, through headset cable routing.

Looks like vital put up a post about an inverted fork from Push. Maybe a woopsy on the ol' embargo? Looks great though.

I don't even want to know how much a fork from push would cost, but boy would I like to try it.

Should we start guessing? I am going $1499...

$1499 would be a STEAL. I'm going near double that easy. $2699

Agreed, it has to be north of 2k, especially since the shock is 1600.

Aren't shocks usually ~half the price of a matching fork?

I didn't get that concrete reference at first but that is bold. As a 5Dev crank owner I looked at Neko blasting DH runs with them before I bought them. Now slightly weary of running them...

What are your thoughts on its travel? Can’t really figure out how long the 11-6 is at the back of this Arrival, whether it’s the long shock for the 170mm travel or the shorter one for 152mm. The fork kinda matches the whole bike proportion-wise, so if we know which version of the Arrival we’re looking at, we might guess the fork’s travel! Smile

I cant even afford to look at a video of it, it will be something like $3500 here, a Fox 38 was $2k new when released.

Crank/Handlebar/Stem/Pedal are a few of the things I would not want to fail - ever. Particularly catastrophically.

Just going to drop this here...

Crank assembly fatigue testing machine - Tianjin Fuji-ta Bicycle Co.,Ltd.

Just having two pneumatic cylinders pushing and pulling on both cranks at the same time (cycling) would dp a lot for testing and wouldn't require much of a setup. And comparing it to cranks already on the market will give a good picture of where you're at. If for example you fail at 50 % the cycles a 100 USD crank fails at, well... Iterate?

That IG story is just as amateurish as that DM exchange. However, back to tech rumours folks!

As if this is an indication of anything ? Have you ever seen a Commencal rider breaking his frame ? Or a Fox X2 blowing up ? Nope not on the WC circuit yet those are notorious to crack and brake like biscuits. Difference is, sponsored athletes can change crank, frame, shock every run if they consider it necessary so while this might give you info on the level of performance of a product it certainly won't give you any indication about the reliability of the product

Aaron Gwin broke an e13 crank back in May 2019, which resulted in injury. Some selected quotes from the interview: “…those cranks were simply an old version and shouldn’t have been on his bike…E-thirteen had a conversation with me a little over a year ago about not running that version of cranks anymore due to inconsistencies they were seeing…For some reason, there was one pair left in my garage… It was definitely not my intention to run cranks that we weren’t supposed to, but again, that's on me and I should have been more on top it than I was…not a proper representation of the high quality of the current E-thirteen product.”

If I recall, this was the beginning of a rough chain of events for Gwin. It also seemed like it turned rider attention toward carbon crank failures. I know I had my first carbon crank fail (not catastrophically) in the winter of 2019/20.

Not trying to continue beating a dead horse here but on Cam’s Instagram regarding his 5Dev crank fiasco were other people sending him pics of their own broken cranks from 5Dev. There’s no excuse for the way 5Dev handled this Cam guy and his bad experience with their product. Also, no excuse for not addressing this by recalling these faulty cranks and issuing refunds to customers or at the very least doing some kind of damage control with this whole situation. It’s clear they don’t give a flying F&€K about whether people are satisfied/safe riding said product.

Ok I’m finished. Promise I won’t post again about this lol

They DID offer Cam a refund or warranty replacement (to the DH/Freeride spec) though!

Cam is one of those customers that is impossible to please. And made it worse by publicising the entire thing as he went along. 5Dev are right to get rid of him and focus on sorting out their other customers.

5Dev should have handled it better but I believe in this particular instance Cam would've behaved like a self-entitled child anyway.

As for the other instagram example that's been posted here, the person said "Andrew strikes again! I don't know a single soul that destroys more bike parts than my husband 😅. In the last few years he has demolished 5 different cranks from several manufacturers. Thankfully customer service has been kind to him and a new pair of Andrew's fav cranks are on the way."
