I know he's an icon of the sport, but he has only been in one WC final since 2023, and that was at the first race in 2023. He's barely made it into the top 50 in semis most races. He's an icon, but sports progress.

Dan wouldn’t even be able to qualify for a final. Being a fast rider at your own bike park you ride everyday is completely different from racing world cups.

I've ridden tons of steep trails that look flat on GoPro footage. This still looks scary steep in spots so I know it's way more insane in person... looks like a wild course that's going to be fun to watch on race day.

If true, $75k doesn’t seem like enough honestly? 10 races this year, basically have to pay for months of lodging between races. Mechanic and other support. Team camps. Larger fees for teams next year…… to be on one of the best teams in the sport, kinda seems like a deal.

Couldn't agree more, so many people getting angry about misinformation and conjecture. World Cup racing has been in flux since it's inception. This is just the next change in a long line of changes. Seems to me that the main source of anger on the forums and comments sections is that it's no longer "free" to watch DH racing. But for those of use who have paid to watch the DH racing (especially the womens) has been some of the best ever. What I gather from this forum is that the World Cup should be free to enter for anyone...

I dunno, maybe it's not a bad idea to stay off of forums where people discuss racing until you've watched the race. It's a strategy that's always worked for me.😉

Unpopular opinion but transmission is a clear/undeniable benefit over any existing cable stuff

Current enduro is more mini dh than actual enduro bike, its super capable but its too much of a bike for a regular day out and the fact that even factory team does not race with it tells you enough. Before they had stumpjumper evo to fill the gap but with new stumpjumper that gap is even wider now so it makes sense to bring enduro back to full enduro :D

Because Specialized handle it so well. Whereas a lot of other brands begrudge warranty and make any claims an absolute ballache. The amount of failures is also directly related for the amount they sell too. Proportionally it’s probably very similar to everyone else.

He deserved some consequences for his actions (dropped from shimano, hyper pulled out of a frame deal). But he seemed genuinely to be sorry and accept his faults and try to change for the better. @Democho I am currently running the Title AH1 35mm with 38mm rise. I thought about changing down to 31.8mm but didn't really want to buy a new stem aswell, so I left the oneup 35mm stem on there. I cut the Title bar down to 780 and think it is much more comfortable for my hands. Now I don't feel the need to go down to 31.8mm since the AH1 already reduced hand fatigue by alot. Hope this helps! I also got to ride SantaCruz carbon bars and the Specialized ones and never liked any of them.. so maybe carbon...

I kinda can't even watch that. That's headache inducing. This entire event is turning into an advertisement for GoPros as far as I'm concerned. Especially when they have to run an external microphone due to how poor the Insta audio cap is. No exaggeration kinda ruining the event coverage for me. They need a rep on site making sure people are using the best settings and ideally running an external mic when 'vlogging' or talking.
