In my experience as a sponsored athlete, I found a surprising amount of sponsorship and financial support by being a familiar face at regional races, where I was able to consistently be at or near the top of the results sheet. By contrast, chasing the national series or the World Cup dream was EXPENSIVE (like 5-10x more expensive) and getting anything less than a podium at a national was effectively meaningless to sponsors. No anger intended! I'm the one who wrote the poll and I don't own an e-bike myself. It sounds like "I don't own an e-bike because I just think they're dumb and I came here to complain about how dumb they are and you'll never convince me they aren't dumb" would be the best match on the survey given your feedback. I recognize that answer is sarcastic, but I hope it's not angry. Just supposed to be funny.

No option for: I ride bikes for the non motorized experience. So I will keep pedaling. Why so much anger towards those of us that want to keep mountain biking, cycling?

It would be crazy with the cost increases for WC teams, etc if Neko and little Frameworks could have signed and supported a rider like Suarez. Maybe Whiteley is working some "contract magic", or secured an outside sponsor. With Asa in Jrs, and Angel in elites there could be Frameworks podiums in both classes. That would be insane for a brand that has sold about 60 frames to date! Going to be an interesting year.

Sam Hill = Total Legend However, in recent years he's looked fit enough to be winning XC races. That's obviously not his focus at the momment. I'm sure he'll do what needs to be done if he decideds to continue his racing career.

I'll play armchair QB for a second... Shaun Palmer once said there isn't a drug on the planet that compares to winning. As a total loser of a mountain bike racer (lol) I don't personally know, but imagine he's right. We see this behavior, chasing victory past your prime, most often in combat sports where a top tier fighter is reluctant to retire, even though its very clear his best days are behind him. The feeling of winning, especially in a sport where your life feels on the line, is impossible to replicate in everyday life. There is no substitute...

Sitting here in a shoulder sling for 6 weeks of rotator cuff surgery healing and getting bummed out that human powered sport is dying at the hands of greedy capitalists who realized they can monopolize free internet content with enough money, regulation & moped batteries.

Shout out to U.S. anti-trust law, which on paper exists to prevent big businesses from buying up an entire market and creating a monopoly, like this. Unfortunately, anti-trust laws are only as good as the level of enforcement by the current presidential administration, so companies like Walmart, Amazon, Alphabet, and now Warner Bros/Discovery are allowed to continue eating up whole markets unchecked, making customers and workers worse off everywhere they go. It doesn't have to be this way.

I just don't get this move to all E-EDR. I don't know anyone who is asking for this...
