This looks set up for "existing brand that isn't into bikes" that wants to enter the bike market but has no in-house expertise.

They probably expect it to be pretty lucrative for everyone involved, especially if their clients are luxury car companies or the like.

It beats repeating the mistake AMD made...

New SC 5010 colourway from Craig Evans?

New GT Sensor is definetly on the way. Saw it in Canazei, but have been asked not to take pics or spread any details. Looks good as expected.

I wonder if they consider routing the cables through the upper headset bearing a hollistic solution? For me its shithousery and should be punished by being beaten with a pair of vintage z1 bombers.

But we need details, c'mon! Enquiring minds want to know!

As long as we promise to keep it within this thread, is it even considered spreading?

It would be super cool if they had an alloy
chrome/ball burnished finish like the old Zaskar, LTS, RTS. Even a carbon frame in that color would be rad.
I wonder if it will be a high pivot? Hopefully not a heavy mofo like the 2020 model was.

Hopefully quite shorter seat tubes overall?

Hopefully 150mm with slack geo so those that don't want an idler will have that option.

Does it look like the new Fuel ebike?
6/28/2022 10:21am
It actually does look like the fuel ex-e imo. I didn't recognize it at first since they didn't hide it. Don't know numbers but you are not wrong. What else can I say without saying anything. Hmmm. Mark Maurissen has his already, Kathy Winton just got hers, and Wyn and the rest of the team are about to get theirs. 😎

So it's mullet-able then.

Got to see the geo chart for Orbeas 2023 Oiz.
460 seat tube, 472 reach, 67 head angle, 76.5 seat angle, 432 chain stay length for a size large. 120mm front and back and all carbon models come with a dropper.
XL has 510 seat tube and 496 reach.
No pictures yet only fancy names for the colorways (green goblin and such).
Oiz goes DC.

As usual, I took a couple guesses as to what's hiding under the wraps on the Demo prototype. The first pic (Option A) is a true six-bar similar to the DW6 layout, while the second (Option B\) is a four-bar with a sort of MX-style shock linkage around the BB. Option A is extremely progressive, likely far too much so given the current trends away from those sorts of designs, while Option B works very well (in my humble opinion) but doesn't seem to quite line up with the photos we've seen as accurately as Option A. If anything, both of these are probably going to be completely different from the actual thing, but I thought I might as well throw a guess or two out there:

Given how beefy the chainstays are, I'd put my money on the MX layout. This will take so much load...

But that forward pivot looks a bit too forward to me. I don't think the chainstay would look like that... I'd guess the main pivot would be directly above the link pivot.

That would make the MX link harder to implement though (therefore I didn't think about this layout, so kudos on that). I had much uglier ideas about it all 😂

Has anyone heard anything about a longer Reverb AXS? It’s been quite a few years now without any revisions…

I wasn't sure about where to put it either, but the current Enduro and Demo have it quite a bit forward of the chainring so I figured it wasn't an unreasonable assumption. My main issue with the MX one is that in the photos the chainstay itself drops all the way down behind/below the chainring, but in this concept it's the connecting link in that position.

I can't think of a good way to make everything fit without the connecting link not being at a weird angle (givent he movement of the pivot). But looking at the photo of the proto, I feel the chainstay encloses just in front of the wheel and that the main pivot is directly above what looks like another pivot point behind the BB... To make that work, a pull link has to go forwards below the downtube. That's bothering me.

Alright, here's one (probably) final stab at that Demo. Took the 6-bar design and figured you could make the link right above the chainring rotate counter-clockwise, akin to a shrunken Intense JS design. Progressivity can be easily adjusted by changing the angle of the shock; as is it's only moderately progressive with a smooth ramp towards the end of the stroke. I don't think this one is all that likely, but it does seem to match what is visible in the photos, and it's anyone's guess as to what's actually under the fabric.

The biggest innovation for MTBers is that TransX is working on an electronic dropper post. Might finally have a cheap option for wireless droppers. Their regular droppers are quite good and reliable.

That explains the electronic dropper seen a few months ago here (pic was removed)

Anyone here anything about a mullet Nomad being released by SC in a couple of weeks? I wouldn’t have believed it was true only it’s from a pretty reliable source

Anyone here heard any rumors about a new version of the Scott Ransom?

As far ahead of the curve as that bike was in 2018, others have now caught up and the Ransom could do with an update IMO.

I just hope they don't go full-on integration like they did with the Spark, Spark RC and Patron. Would also be cool if they made the TwinLoc optional.

Wasn't it mentioned here that both the Genius and the the Ransom will go the way of the Spark regarding shock integration?

Far ahead of the curve is pushing it. Lagging behind is more fit:
- Inline shock on "superenduro" bike
- Twinlock
- Not that radical geometry

I think I demoed one, and it was a bag of shit to pedal and decend.
