Looks like Universal Cycles already has the new Rockshox shocks up on their website with some details, no photos though, even though we've all seen them in the wild. When was release date supposed to be?

Soon, can't remember the exact date on the embargo, but pretty sure it was early May

I'm most interested in the boxxer, the embargo said March 2023 which is wild given how production ready the forks the pros have bolted to their bikes are

Also glad to see they've changed to a linear rebound tune rather than the wack digressive one the "current" shocks come with
https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/tuning-manuals/roc…

The linear tune is one of many available on current shocks too.

As for Kryptotal getting torn, a few years ago (almost 10 actually) a friend of mine ripped the carcass of a Conti tyre in a berm and got a wobble. On a basically new tyre. Though he does destroy everything he touches, but nevertheless, he did Megavalanche on EXO/DD Maxxis tyres Smile

It is a single case, it is 'anecdotal' and a while ago, but it has happened.

Got my hands on a set of Kryptotals, was really loving them until the bead broke in the front. Randomly picked up a wobble and then the tire blew itself off of the rim. Anyone else have this experience?

If anyone has any questions about them in general I would be glad to help out too
So it was a blowout, and not a rumor of a blowout? Take it elsewhere please.

Kinda bummed that the RC2T Air doesn't include HBO.

I wonder if that was just a mistake on the part of WorldWideCyclery or they ditched the HBO option on the air shocks. Or, can you get the HBO option on the RC2T, but you only get HBO on the Air Shock if you got for the RC3T?

Hmmm...

Air shocks don’t need HBO because they naturally have more progression than coil shocks, and you can add tokens.

Five or so years ago I give conti tyres a shot and was plagued with tyre blowing off rims, the dh casing tyres stayed on fine but there lighter casing tyres just wouldn’t stay on the rim, I was really hoping they would be better this time round but sounds like same old problem. I also ran a der kaiser DH last year which within 3 rides developed a very strange uneven wear issue, some of the knobs flattened out and mushroomed really bad.

Anecdotal is as sensible a name as any in the new line up.

Soo we will have mid stroke support if we use more than %15 sag? Good news

Doubt it if the shock comes with a light compression tune...

It would be nice to not have to mess with tokens which can effect CR’s and instead rely on an HBO system. Wouldn’t that get us closer to a linear rate spring/coil-like mid stroke support? EXT just teased another clip of the ARIA air shock. I think this will be the direction I head

Wonder if that violates any patents that Rock Shox will just kill with $$$

Doubt it, as you can't patent a large negative spring. And while it does look similar it's not exactly the same. Still looks like Vorsprungs is larger.

Fox 40 has had this kind of negative spring extender forever.

And is Vorsprung at the level of patenting solutions? Or just developing things faster than the big guys and staying interesting that way?

Anywho, apparently a shop in Slovenia ordered some Rock Shox forks and received the new, updated ones. The release should be imminent then.

Really hoping that’s what’s holding up my alloy GX Spire from arriving. I’ll be pretty stoked if it shows up with a buttercup Zeb on the front…

Brook on an Aluminium bike must be testing some new geo, it’s also nice to see Michelin have calmed down the tyre logos to just white as they used to be!

Do you gave any info regarding the prices for the new forks?

Screw the Fury, I wanna now about the new Sensor. Interesting though, if this will be their new suspension plattform. It looks as if the rocker link moved to within a split seattube. Won't work for trailbikes, so probably not.

Merida has a new enduro bike, saw it today at the Spanish Enduro Cup ridden by Toni Ferreiro. It is a complete redesign and looks production ready. Full carbon frame, mullet wheelsize, probably 170mm fork, and now it's when it gets interesting, the suspension layout it's a linkage driven singlepivot (very similar to a Commencal Meta) but it's a flex pivot. Unfortunately for you my friends, it has another of those cables-through-the-headset bullshit (please start raging below). No photos yet tho...

Top of top tube internal cable routing is interesting but does make some sense with dual crown bikes
