Mixed-Wheel Sam Hill Iron Horse Sunday Replica from iXS Cup Maribor 2

What if you took the classic Iron Horse Sunday that Sam Hill piloted to World Cup and World Champs wins and modernized it with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel? Stretch the reach to 480mm, chainstay length to 460mm, tweak the BB height to 345mm and slack it out with a 63-degree head angle? Well, you would be in the company of Julian Neubauer from Austria, a huge Sam Hill fan. He bought all the Iron Horse Sunday frames he could find and has started to update them with as many original frame parts as possible, cut out and re-welded to new tubes to create modern geometry. The dropouts, links, seat tube, BB shell and head tube are all original Sunday bits.

The fork is a mix of modern Lyrik 29er lowers, older BoXXer stanchions and self-made crowns. He runs a Renthal MX bar with a zero stack stem.

Sven Martin provided some vintage photos of Sam and his bike for even more nostalgia. Dig on in!
