Morgane Charre has been on the team for a while, she got 2nd overall in the EWS this year: https://www.enduroworldseries.com/rankings/riders/
Jesse is in Phoenix, AZ. Coincidentally, the whole Pivot team is currently in Arizona as well.
I was going to post this but didn’t want to sound tooooo crazy.
Honestly, he’s probably just going to Sedona or something.
....or trolling Team Rumors...
jesse‘s that guy who flys to arizona just to troll us all
If I recall correctly he’s traveled down there the past few winters to do a ton of road base miles
No sign of Evie at the Trek XC camp last week. Hope she’s doing alright and recovering well.
Specialized dropped all their ambassadors this morning. Pretty wild move, and kind of a bummer. They helped support a lot of people, and really bad timing for those riders trying to find something for next year.
What's up with Mariana Salazar? She's alluding to something with her body in an insta story.
And doesn't Evie have a contract with Trek for a few years?
There's always gravel, where they can race without racing as a sponsored rider until the grvl fad passes - which it will.
Isn't ambassador just another name for influencer?
Marketing budgets are toast across many industries currently. If your income is dependent on ad sales, time to diversify your portfolio, yo.
Pretty much in-line with going consumer direct and then raising all the prices.
Speshy lives for screwing people over and making more $ in the process.
Who exactly are the affected ambassadors? The lines between sponsored racer, ambassador, influencer, etc have always seemed a tad blurry to me.

I wonder if the cancellation will affect some of the grassroots riders - locally, we've got quite a few trail builders that were supported by Specialized.
Yea the thing about the specialized ambassador program was they supported a lot more than just influencers, some of their ambassadors don’t even have social media. As mentioned above, they supported a lot of trail builders. I actually thought some of the people they supported was one of the only cool things about specialized.
Jordan Williams officially off Madison Saracen.

Would Cody Kelly fall under this? Trying to think of some of the spesh folks that rip.
Cody is on the Specialized Enduro Team, so it shouldn't affect him. Someone like Jacob Lingemann might be affected, but I doubt it as he's a pretty valuable "property" right now.
Making Up the Numbers podcast said Salazar is battling cancer and undergoing chemo?
Oh, jeez, yes indeed: https://www.facebook.com/ManaSalazar/
I hope she has all the support and help she needs.
Georgia Leslie is one in the UK I think - her insta still has links to Spesh Soil Searching program so not too sure if she’s included.
and not the last...
Jesse to Arizona Ice Tea
Pretty sure she works at Specialized UK.
Will Greenfield was a UK ambassador/influencer/youtuber.
Joel Anderson also riding for Specialized in the UK as an ambassador role I believe.
Unsure if it's effected those 2, but more than likely has.
Plenty of others UK wise in other disciplines also.
I think this is old news now, was confirmed a week or so ago, the big question is where will he end up? Seen a comment on a specialized post on insta asking where Jordan was in these photos, wonder if he ends up at the big S?
Saw you mentioning Will Greenfield and thought I knew that name. Turns out I used to watch his youtube-channel a lot 3-4 years ago. Went onto his youtube to check what he was up to and wow, things have taken a turn for the worse. That channel, how I remembered it, was about friends having fun on their bikes. But turns out he ruined it by going full-on "influencer mode".
If that is the kind of people Specialized cut loose I'm not surprised at all.
Maybe we are starting to see the social media influencer starting to run it's course... Viewers know these people are compensated and will always say great things about the products. A friend sent me a link Sarah Swallow's post on getting let go and she has a paragraph about how important the influencers are. But, are they?
Maybe I'll start another thread on that...
Not sure if any of you saw this https://bikepacking.com/news/specialized-terminates-adventure-ambassado…
Seems like the Pandemic Bike Boom profits are drying up and companies are tightening their sponsorship budgets. I can't imagine Specialized will be the only ones...
Literally the last few posts above yours are talking about this
