8/29/2024 11:05am I have always been a one bike type of guy myself, I don’t like owning too much stuff, it pains me to even want a second bike!

8/29/2024 11:04am I'm just about to put up my review of the Epic8 (this week) but have also extensively ridden the Transition Spur, Trek Top Fuel and Transition Smuggler (built light). Overall I'd highly encourage you to look at all of these bikes. Other bikes I'd put on the list include the Santa Cruz Tallboy, Yeti SB120, and the Ibis Ripley. IMO, there is a big difference in bike performance and feel between those chassis that are flex stay driven and those chassis that fully rely on pivots. If you are skewing toward doing a little racing and have a longer travel...

8/29/2024 11:00am Not sure if xc/down country or whatever it’s called is a forbidden subject on here but thought I’d ask the question as it is gravity related. I’ve ridden bikes for 30 years give or take, for a good 20 years it was solely downhill racing and riding, then I discovered trail bikes and pedalling uphill so for the last decade I have pretty much been doing the enduro thing, currently running a nomad v6 as the only bike I have and love the thing for the gnarlier stuff but lately I have been noticing lots more trails which I don’t...

8/29/2024 10:34am I just buy Specialized BUTCHer's & black out the ER. They named it after me but are such tight wads, they found a way to cash in without paying me royalties, the cheap bastards.

Looks very similar to a product I have seen promoted and used on off-road moto bikes. The name escapes me right now, though.

8/29/2024 9:55am The Formula Belva really blew it with the internals that can’t accommodate heavier riders. Target market for a dual crown fork on an enduro is big humans. Bummed.

8/6/2024 5:28am People think "Bad Cell Service" means they need to just walk over there to get it or wait a minute for a download. Ride Rock Creek there is: NO CELL SERVICE. NO INTERNET. NO ETHERNET. NO WIFI. Everyone shows up and gets a huge wake up call to just how "untethered" it. Only thing you can do is airdrop a pic to "ya boi" 5 feet away.

8/6/2024 5:28am My $0.02... Yesterday was a tough day for a lot of people. The absolute most unfortunate event that we could imagine, happened. Rumors spread like wildfire once the course hold went into effect. At one point I think most people thought that the event was going to be canceled. I am thankful that it wasn't. I met Scott at the US Open two years ago and I absolutely know that he would want racing to go on despite what happened. He was a great soul and a true racer. Ironically, my son got to know Scott pretty well the past...

8/6/2024 5:26am Well, that’s a sober, devastating reminder that things can go very wrong at downhill events. Unfortunately, I’ve been at two events when someone died It made me think differently about this thrilling, amazing sport that we do—but I still fo it. Even as a spectator, like at rampage, it’s very conflicted. We love the sport, we enjoy the mixture of speed and skillful, beautiful riding on the edge ….but when things happen, it’s impossible not to hit pause. Sad condolences to Scott’s family and friends. No one can comfort your loss. And—healing thoughts to all those that were there and...

8/6/2024 5:24am This might should go in a separate thread and is something I was going to bring up after our experiences at nationals. I absolutely love Ride Rock Creek, and I love Neko. I love and acknowledge everything he has done for our sport. So please don't take this as criticism of him or RRC. That being said: What should be the minimum communication/ cell coverage requirements for a large race event? I realize that our sport often takes place in remote locations by nature (especially enduro). As such, providing adequate coverage may be difficult. But when you're trying to coordinate...
