3/6/2024 9:23am Sorry, *the switch to the smaller 200mm rotors helped the power roll on instead of hit all at once. I accidentally wrote 220. Making the switch helped a ton with being able to use varying levels of lever input. With the 220 up front, the slightest touch seemed to nearly lock up the wheel. I normally run Code Ultimates and will likely switch back for what I feel like is a more usable range of power for a trail bike. These brakes will be going on my Enduro and Downhill bikes where I feel like the power is more applicable...

3/6/2024 9:22am They're placed in a category above the Codes, but the Codes will still exist. The switch to smaller rotors was more for allowing the power to roll on rather than hit all at once. The front wheel was starting to tuck into turns because the wheel would lock up so easily; it was pretty difficult to get any kind of modulation.

10/23/2023 6:54am My one piece of advice for most riders to make their bikes less tiring and more forgiving is to speed up your rebound. Most mountain bikers run their rebound way too slow because they want to make the bike feel stable and predictable in the car park, but that means the suspension isn't able to move freely on trail. If your rebound is too slow, especially on your fork, your suspension will pack down into the harder part of the spring curve and beat up your hands and legs. Find a rougher track and open your rebound 3 clicks on...

10/23/2023 6:44am This is a good synopsis of "how did we get here" if anyone doesn't want to parse through a bunch of other posts. I think the fun part is to look to the future being I can broadly agree with Dave's recap (few quibbles, but not important for this conversation). Here are the keys to consider when peering into your crystal ball/magic 8 ball. 1) Mountain biking went through a phase of increased demand during COVID. This demand is better thought as "pulling future demand to the present". This means higher than average demand was followed by lower than average...

10/17/2023 11:30am Been to Snowshoe for the last two WC DHs, and my legs know from hiking up and down there that it certainly isn't flat, but all the racers there rank it as one of the 'flatter' courses, as there's lots of pedally sections (makes Loris ever so tired!). Certainly not the smoothest (Andorra), but it could possibly tie Les Gets as the roughest for rocks (well, maybe not this year's dirt inilled Les Gets). Rode Whiteface back in the 90's and it definitely has the elevation, rocks, roots, etc. to set the stage for a great DH WC, but we'll...

10/17/2023 11:30am Listen guy. I can tell you've never been to Snowshoe. It's not flat in the slightest. It's 1430 feet of elevation drop in a mile and a half. It's freaking HARD to race. There is room to have a better World Cup track there. But it's not mandatory. DH World Cup racers putting in a 5-8 second sprint just above the Wild Zone is NOTHING. The sprint isn't even on flat ground. Vouilloz would laugh at it. SnowShoe is HARD. Benoit falling on flat ground breaking his scaphoid had nothing to do with the track. He put his hand out...

10/3/2023 11:45am The woke clown posse are always offended at every level of discourse. So going straight to clown reference just cuts out a lot of the back and forth and outs all the clowns. So, kind of surprising. My test email is now up to 92% negative feedback. Which exceeds even PB at its worst. Difference is that management hasn't chimed in and aggressively censored......yet. Have all the normal riders with actual brains bought E-bikes and moved on from MTB's? Pretty much all I see is E-bikes now. Damn, I was trying to remain pure.

10/3/2023 11:44am I tried to give you a thumbs up just now but apparently I already did. My goal is to not have to make Spomer monitor and delete my posts. So....I'm gonna go edit a post real quick. Be right back.

10/3/2023 11:44am From the negative count "thumb downs" on my post me thinks some of the woke clowns from PB have ended up here. Does not seem promising for VitalMTB if true.

10/3/2023 11:43am My pb account was banned for a year on the last UCI rule change article around trans-women. I used the phrase "men-living-as-women", trying to balance accuracy without being incendiary. I haven't been back.

10/3/2023 11:43am PB going away is sweet to me. After getting attacked and banned for just contrary opinions. They define the term Go Woke, Go Broke. Hilarious.

10/3/2023 9:55am If you've never been to Snowshoe...there are more trees than rocks. You'd go broke trying to pad everything. None of the rocks are padded. Riders are padded. Elbows. Backs. Brains. Shins. Knees. I've never been bothered by trees not having pads. Lung puncturing dead fall on the downslope is my phobia though.

8/31/2023 5:57am So run an Ohlins? Their 3 chamber air allows you to adjust the end stroke ramp. Not getting full travel? Back off the end stroke ramp air pressure. Need more bottom out support? Add air. They have a three click HCS system that doesn't use spring pre-load on the shim stack (they use an oval shim). Do you like very firm compression? Have the TTX18 re-shimmed from their documented shim bank. Lighter rider and like less compression? Their shim bank has that covered. With their shim bank you don't need to rely on guessing or some guru's claimed magic, it's...

8/31/2023 5:41am I’m not hung up on “trying to bottom out” and I think the fork is great but you can feel it ramping up from mid to 155mm where I’m stopping my travel. I’ve even forcefully lifted and slammed the front into on coming roller faces to try and max out. I think they did a great job with the initial travel and hold up and forks rigidity. In stock form I think it’s a near perfect for bike park set up but not the best on chunky trails. I ordered the TruTune last night which sounds like it negates “volume...

8/31/2023 5:39am After many years on Fox i've got a bike built up this season with Rockshox suspension. Super deluxe coil shock is sorted but I have the new 180mm Zeb Ultimate with the charger 3 damper and can't get full travel out of the thing. TL:DR: Doesn't seem to matter what pressure or how many spacers the o-ring is always stopping 25mm from full travel. Is this just the way Zeb performs; hits a wall of pressure at 25mm from full travel or has anyone heard of specific issues with the internals that would cause it? Detailed version: - I'm 6.2'...
