Yep. This whole thing about mineral oil (petroleum) being a benign substance is just weird and wrong. Both classes of brake fluid can work well in brakes, neither of them work well as a skin care product or beverage.

As I say to everybody with a view like yours, come to Slovenia. We have a few climbs here where it's likely you'll be wishing for a 28t ring up front to replace the 30t on your bike to pair up with that wide range, 50+ tooth cassette out back. There are some people that can push insane gear ratios everywhere, but they are far an in between. There are different terrains around the world requiring different approaches. But overall, for most people, wide range cassettes are a benefit, not a negative. Having more options is great, but catering to...

The weightweenies thread that was linked earlier with the XTR Di2 is now updated with the new XTR brakes as well. Looks nice https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=171477&start=60

Some new photos from the new Shimano 12-speed wireless Di2 sets, posted here (no idea about the source): https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=171477&start=45 It seems the set is full wireless. +1 pic from the new XTR crankset.

I belive that is André's bike - One of the guys that works at Intend, and the guy most likely to answer if you email them. Super nice guy, and I believe he welds the front triangles himself. He's done a few bikes himself iirc. Thats also a way better pic of that new (what I assume is) twintubed shock. As well as a carbon prototype blackline fork

Re BK's bike. Look at the angle of the rear wheel as he lands. And the audio is muted on his POV clip in his video when he hits the drop: https://youtu.be/smvc8h3F47Q?si=EsZcoCKF79KcXaHy&t=1098

Good pull. In this thread, we seemingly stumbled on an idea that should be obvious; certain founders want to optimize for profit (I'd say most), while certain founders want to optimize for mission. If you are in the latter category, by default private equity or some kind of strategic financial buyer is often a mismatch and will perhaps push your business the wrong direction. Every now and then maximizing for profit also maximizes for mission, but we obviously can't bet on that. While I could poke a lot of holes in Patagonia's execution of mission, I can't poke holes in...

You've never seen this course in person. You also haven't seen the footage of Dave landing in the creek and spending the next 3 months in hospital down in Hobart before he can be flown home (I have). The idea that we should give less practice time so its harder is psychotic. One wrong line and its goodnight, season over. The team were quite close to getting some of the frenchies down this year, some accepted initially but then declined after, were not going to get them down here by making it even more dangerous for no reason. The spectacle...

https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/belt-drive-and-gearbox-thread There, if you wanna keep blasting new tech while ignoring the obvious shortfalls of old tech Smile Just a few simple points - Hard to use a belt without a gearbox, and gearbox is probably not the best for the lycra lovers. - Been riding my belt in treacherous mud all fall/winter, and had zero issues, literally zero maintenance..just saying, because some fella somewhere had a bad experience doesn't mean sh!t. - So what a fella broke something. I have a box full of broken derailleurs that had definitely cost me $1000 in the past 3 seasons. Just yesterday...

This is the (Horst) linkage, defining the axle path: This drives the shock: If it's the same colour, it's a single piece. The chainstay of the horst link has an extension, to which the red short link attaches and pulls down on it to rotate the silver rocker, driving the shock.

Enduro-MTB mag is in such a weird spot, and I don’t really trust their reviews. They used to like very conservative geometry for a while, then a year or two years later when reviewing the same bike that they complained about being too long or too slack against a field of new competitors it was now fine. They also used to complain about bikes being too heavy, then two sentences later the lighter tires are way too prone to puncture and every bike should come with DH casings. Their test riders are good from what I’ve seen, but their reviews...

More of an industry news: Garen from Santa Cruz moves to Orbea -> https://www.linkedin.com/posts/garen-becker-62766740_ahoy-pals-time-fli… SC is definitely changing directions and will be interested to see what happens in the future. They seem to be bleeding the talent that got them to being the cool fast brand.... Also could be big moves with Orbea and their new team (Credit to Escape Collective Discord for the sleuth)
