Small tip for people using the Maven bleed kit. It's pretty much impossible to get the air completely out of the syringe hoses before installing them on the brakes, because after pushing the last of the air out, the seal causes the piston to retract slightly and pull a bubble of air back in. Just make sure you always start your bleed by pulling the syringe plunger slightly before pushing it to migrate this bubble out the hose and into the syringe reservoir, to avoid shooting this air bubble into your brakes and making your bleed more difficult than it...

Cascade already hit the big items; you essentially have to cut metal parts to hold other metal parts. A Horst link is also a Virtual Pivot design, but it's not a "VPP TM" design. Personal opinions aside, in most markets you'll see a convergence of design. This is especially true with a market that is heavily influenced by performance of a product or system being most heavily valued by the consumer of the product. The more the underlying form needs to adhere to very rigid design criteria for an intended function, optimization will likely yield at most a handful and at least a single design that will win out. Straying from this "best" design will put you at a significant disadvantage, especially when the product itself is intended to do something more than just...

Interesting take- I'm kinda the opposite. I like seeing the convergence of designs and features. At this point companies have to sweat the details and provide superior value to get business. I want a reliable, good value that does what it's supposed to do... Don't care if the bike is different or rare.

Kashima incorporates tungsten disulfide as a lubrication agent, which keeps its lubricity at high loads. Many high end chain waxes now contain tungsten disulfide because it has good lubrication properties and ia durable. Pro teams on the road tour use this to save watts and during covid used to save chains, as less friction is less wear.
