Something that's worth mentioning is how little you have to shift your COG to change your front/rear tire weight ratio. We're not talking about huge movements or shifts in body position. The whole art of downhill racing is choosing which tire to weight, but our good and noble king Sam Hill looks like his torso never moves when he's riding. He's doing a zillion micro movements of exactly the right amount at exactly the right moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucs8ikH_NDg&t=343s For you, me, Dak, Sam, whoever, if you can find your centered athletic position on a bike and you're comfortable moving around from...

Almost completely off topic, but had a solid chuckle this morning at Charlie predicting the Martin Maes situation a year ago lol. Was this already talked about? (Vital embed doesn't do time stamps so its at 19 minutes in exactly.)

I’ve switched to using bearings instead of shock bushings which helps. Fox makes some sizes and Real Work Cycling has some really good needle bearing kits. DH sign from Italy has good spherical option. https://dhsign.it/en/

Getting the axle out can be a chore as it should be a tight fit. Don't hammer it! Once the axle is out, the bushings are fairly easy to pry out with a fingernail or small screwdriver. Just be careful.

Creaks drive me nuts and can resonate through the frame making them hard to track down. I once spent an hour in the parking lot of a bike park trying to fix my creaking shock mounts only to find out it was the clutch on my derailleur. If you are sure it's that front shock mount, try pulling the mounting...

I was born in Poland, but I grew up in California....spent 40 years there. Now I'm back in Poland...as luck would have it....in Bielsko-Biała. For the past 3 years I've been riding most of the trails that'll be used at the event. Prior to that, my resume includes mostly Skegg's Point and Braille in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a run down Mt. Lemmon outside of Tuscon, and some Tapia Canyon (Castaic, California). I'm old and mostly ride motorcycles with MTB stuff peppered in here and there. Nevertheless, I think I have some unique credibility here. So if you will endulge...

May not be on the bonded frames for a bit. Neko said he wanted to test the new frames himself. I believe this is to relieve his riders of the stress of whether or not new types of frames will make it through a race weekend.

Mugen Liked a reply to forum topic Scrubs are slower then squashing: My MTB hot take

100% disagree with your take, simply because in an ideal scrub the bike is still perfectly in line with the direction of movement. A whip for sure will slow you down, and that is what your "bike on a car rack" analogy corresponds to. Frixtalon + dark googles + scrub is just how I picture myself every ride, despite actually doing a weak turnbar on an ebike wearing prescription glasses in a 3/4 helmet.

Your original question is sort of like when I ask the dentist "What's more important, brushing or flossing?" Dentists hate that question because both actions work together as a system. What's funny is I typically get different answers. They really hate the question and some dentists refuse to answer it entirely, but when pressed some dentists will tell me flossing is more important and others tell me brushing. Obviously, neither is sufficient on its own. Same with suspension. All the elements do different things and all the elements work together to create the end result. And you didn't even mention...

It's a conundrum for sure. You really have to decide what your prioritys are. I have moved from a Fox 38, Zeb and Fox 40 to a Fox 36, RXF 36 and DH38. as a 185lb former powerlifter, I don't consider myself a light weight, however, I have worked for years on becoming a rider who uses more finesse and...
Contis are pretty solid. Have good grip and side walls are bomb proof. Kryptotals front and rear in downhill casing with soft compound should be money!

I agree, but maybe start a new thread asking that question instead of bringing them here to see this one. I want to be educated from the start, and not have to read through the negativity posted here. Tell you what, I’ll do it for us.
