TheSuspensionLabNZ Liked a reply to forum topic Frame design: how to select shock stroke & length?

So theres a few other things that compound here - The thing about damper tunes that gets overlooked is that each damper really only has a limited window that it can be revalved to. The piston design, shaft side, damper bore and base valve dimensions all add up to work in a certain range of speeds and forces. It's not that straightforward to revalve a shock as soft or firm as you like. Once you are outside that window the pressures and forces inside the shock will no longer be balanced properly and it won't perform anywhere near what it...

Sram says the distance between the outside of the mounted cassette and the end of the hub end cap should be 3.4mm, mine is 3.53mm (I9 1/1 hub) so less than 1 micro shift (0.2mm) off. All of the rest of tolerance buildup is in the cassette and derailleur, so my cassette and derailleur are about 1.5mm off from nominal...

My XO Transmission is also in micro adjust position 1 of 14. Anything other than 1 and it will occasionally drop to the next smaller cog, so it is not in the optimal position, but at least it works. I hope someone on here knows how to reset or adjust the micro adjust as I have been putting off emailing...

Odd that such a flat, boring "Enduro stage of a track" a) delivers one of the most exciting and unpredictable races every year, b) takes more of a toll on both riders and bikes than pretty much any other venue, and c) based on comments on WynTV has the best, most knowledgeable fans. Definitely seems like you'd want to avoid that place

He gave props to GT's new Fury for carrying speed on flatter/faster parts of the track in addition to the Specialized/Maxxis chatter. Don't think there's anything at play, he's just a solid dude on commentary and to me doesn't put any bias into it even when his teammates are on track.

I couldn't agree more Mickey. If he wants it, Asa will come out of his Frameworks contract a polished professional with tons of prototyping experience, probably more than most seasoned Elites, and some serious business chops from Martin. He will be quite a package for the big teams to fight over.

I had a guy at work tell me, ironically mere moments after I had read ferrintino’s piece on NSmB https://nsmb.com/articles/the-thief-of-joy/ anyways this coworker drops: what’s wrong with Strava? It’s just like racing whenever you want? as a former racer who worked really hard to achieve my goals and develop a race craft (I still suck) I found this comment sickening. Like it made me sick. Sickening. Like racing is actually lining up. Strava is not racing, and for those that think it could be, goactaully race. Xc, enduro, dh —Fucking race dh people. That’s racing. Strava is masturbation. and now...

The second or ramp chamber (inflate it first) should be about 150-200% of the main chamber. I like to think of it as starting off with a fork with max tokens, so you get the best positive to negative chamber ratio in the beginning to mid stroke. Then somewhere in the mid stroke as the main and secondary chambers equalize...

Nico, ACC, Cedric, Pascal, ALL of the Aussies, Greg.....the 90's had F*CK tons of jrs that went on to be senior assassins. Another cool chart would be to see of the Jrs that crush it as Jrs, and where they go as seniors, because, time has shown very few go on to huge elite success. Are they getting "faster" perhaps, is the amount of them more than ever? perhaps. As for Asa, I sure wish people would just let him be himself and do what he's gonna do. So many people with the rap of "just you wait, he's gonna...

If my vest had sleeves, it would be a jacket…. you’re comparing a coil in-line shock designed for a Spur, with an air shock (with piggyback) designed for a Spire or TR-11, and are surprised that they are in fact close on weight?

"The same force applied to the end of it" is where it gets tricky. In an extreme example, if you swap out 175 cranks for 155s, the first thing you have to do is raise your saddle 20mm to maintain proper pedaling position. That means at the top of the stroke as you begin to apply power, the pedal spindle...

So with that last sentence from Rider Mike, I'm curious to hear... Do folks actually think USAC "Pays" venues to put on national champs? It could not be more the opposite. It costs venues 10's of thousands of dollars, (maybe in the 6 figures when it was combined XC and DH) to meet USAC requirements, pay USAC officials, house all of the staff, and put on a national championships race. On the same vein of polling the group... Does anyone know of even ONE other legit bid that was put in to USAC to host national champs in 23/24? I'm...
