I've been doing the same thing. Using the shitty plastic SRAM UDH hanger you can just rasp off the plastic axle guide in seconds and it works. Don't need to go all the way down, you can leave a little lip to guide the axle. I'm a fan of the smaller jump up to the 52t and how the Transmission cassette shifts when mashing up a tech climb. But mostly I just wanted to see if I could make it work. Sloppy GX derailleurs: when your GX mech is new, buy (or poach) an X01 B-bolt, they're about $25. The...

The shifting is great, but so is XT when it's fresh. The gear spacing is great, but I'm not that picky. The cost is absolutely ridiculous, and you would be shocked at how little I care what other people think. 95% of all the people I know think riding a bike after age 10 is silly. I bought my Transmission...

I always appreciate tinkering like this. We need more of it... and others to do it successfully so I don't break stuff and waste money!

The UDH has material that creates a slot for the hub endcap to help with axle installation. Transmission uses a 55mm chainline and the whole cassette is spaced outbound by 3mm, so when trying to use a Transmission cassette with a standard UDH, the chain will drag on this "slot" material when in the smallest cog. I love everything about...

Offering riders stock options or equity would be a significant pivot towards worker ownership, aka a co-op or distribution of the means of production. (I would hope under this arrangement, the same would be offered to all employees, not just riders.) Pretty socialist idea you’ve got there — just about the apex of “woke.” Which way is it, bizutch?

I agree with others who've discussed the benefits of powerful brakes, big rotors, and tall bars for fighting off arm pump. Ditto for hand exercises and changing brake lever position, which are free. Knowledge is another thing that helps with arm pump that can’t be purchased. Good suspension settings, body position, and riding technique can take a rider with stiff arms and horrible claw hands to a rider who's looking far ahead in sections, braking hard and then getting off the brakes, and riding with a relaxed upper body. But you can’t buy that. You can buy coaching, and a...

Was so refreshing to have Tahnee in the booth. Actual insightful things to say. Could see where riders were winning and loosing time and dissected the track. We can all be glad Rob is as iconic and interesting as he is. But neither Claudio, Elliot, Tracey, nor anyone at discovery commentary did a simply effective job like Tahnee did. 🤝

A long time ago, before suspension and disc brakes, it was a common suggestion from armchair experts to set your levers so the top of your forearms and the back of your hands form a straight line. Terrible advice as it puts tremendous force into the thumb joints, but probably great for not having nerve issues in the wrist. Imagine...
Well if you win a billion dollars you'd bring home about 600 million of it. I think some of you will have to win the lottery a couple times to buy a world class ski resort and build trails on it and also run a racing series and some world cup teams that money will go quicker than you could imagine. I think the honest answer for me is just buy some property in cool areas, buy some bikes, buy some more dirt bikes and have plenty of extras for my buddies to ride them and just enjoy life with...

The crew from Monster pro dh and trail builders at Mountain Creek knocked this one out of the park. The course was soooooo fun to ride while being deceptively difficult to go fast on. 2 for 2 for the Pro Downhill Series. Clay and crew are doing a bang up job. #usdh

Old person here. Rampage is too groomed. It's so 'mid' now. 90ft jumps are not the norm for pro's......not even the darkfest crew. I know some of the 'boyz'. Most of them are scared shitless. *You're The event is owned and run by RB. The diggers (some of the Dyfi crew) are contracted to build/maintain the course. Dh is a minority sport.....but that does'nt mean that there should be a high chance of death for a minor mistake. Both Bk's and Jims jumps could have gone very, very, very badly wrong. It's bike racing.....not Beyond Thunderdome (ask your Dad). I'm going back to my...
