10/31/2023 7:53am Or, as someone mentioned earlier, is he up there visiting Race Face? I know Gwin is a money maker, but Fox has been a day one sponsor and I just couldn’t see that relationship ending. With E13 cutting back is Fox just doubling down and providing the finishing kit for their bikes now?

10/26/2023 10:36am Luke Strobel and Bryn Atkinson told me my chain guide wasn’t clocked right in the lift line of the Mt. Hood Fluidride Cup in 2009. I built Christian Wright’s 2011 Champery World Champs race bike, where he proceeded to be the fastest junior American male, in 38th place. Shaun Palmer stopped by the shop I worked at on his way...

10/24/2023 1:30pm Thanks… had a lot of fun and good learning doing them. going to buy a welder again someday. Would like to make something trying to use an alfine hub wheel. Bb pivot full suspension with a gear hub seems like a cool bike for some reason. Run a tiny chainring / micro drive Super clean looking and silent. with all the downsides of a super heavy hub and terrible pivot location

10/19/2023 10:01am I could see IFR disbanding. Breeden is a consistent semi finals guy, so he could likely find a smaller proveteer team to get on. Dak was pretty vocal about his disappointment with lack of testing, constant changes, and low pay. Add to the fact with a solid program he could be a top 5 guy and he would be silly...

10/17/2023 10:55am That is literally the only way I see this playing out. 100% invests money in the team, they don’t want Kade wearing a Fox helmet. Red Bull likely pays Kade more than 100%, so he chose to represent them over 100%. The high ups at Trek Racing said no go and pulled the plug.

10/17/2023 10:53am Trek would never let him race with a different manufactures helmet. That would put them in breach of contract of their commitment to 100% which would most likely give 100% the right to request their investment back from Trek which is mostly like tens of thousands of dollars. Trek prioritized a title sponsor over Kade who was likely on his way out anyways and Kade prioritized RedBull. Cant really blame either party.

10/16/2023 1:17pm All contracts are structured that way. 100% sponsor the team to wear their products. A rider not complying puts the team in breach of contract and so they cannot let it happen. My take- Kades deal with Trek was always based on exposure not results. Could he be a top 10 guy-absobloodylutely. But he knows how much work and dedication it takes (he sees how much work Tahnee does) and tbh he much prefers dicking about on his bmx/trials/ebike than going to the gym 5 days a week (because he told me). Trek were ok with this but maybe this...

10/15/2023 5:30pm Then shops better buck up and pay for said mechanics if they want to have a chance at going that route. Techs with that level of training and years of experience behind them ain’t gonna happily work for $20 an hour. When I left the largest bike shop chain in Northern California about 18 months ago they capped their service...

10/5/2023 7:56am "I'm hesitant to paint everyone else in the industry as idiots" I was forced to sit through a multi-hour presentation where the management of a very large bike brand starting with T explained to us that it was'nt a bike boom caused by the virus. It was the result of all THEIR hard work making everything sooo awesome and it was our duty not to let them down. Anyone who voiced anything approaching common sense was roundly chastised for a 'negative attitude'. When the downturn bit and the 50% increased target turnover was consistently missed, it was due to our...
